Main reason why the USA was not there was because of the way the MLS is structured with no relegation and promotion there are really only a couple of high pressure games a season. and the fact that only one of the team now plays in europe now bascially they get paid a lot to be mediocre. The old USA team had players from the UK, Germany and italy where they all had to fight for there places week in week out

One reason for the Decline in the scottish team is because the amount of quality scottish players in the premier league has dropped substantially since the 70's 80's and 90's or you need a really good manager who can mould a team in the likes on Northern Ireland or an Iceland or even sweden hard to breakdown

Strachen was a Joke the interview where he blamed scotalnd failures on bad genetics Tongue Tongue was rightly derided

I was born in Fairfield Hospital in Bury as was Kieran & have lived in Ramsbottom all my life, hence my nickname is Rammyrascal. Bury council provides all public services for Ramsbottom

Yes Kieran did live in an area of Ramsbottom growing up called Summerseat & went to high school in Ramsbottom called Woodhey High School. I wasn’t at woodhey when Kieran was there, but my youngest brother was.

I think Lloris' mistake for their second goal was on a par with Casillas's error against the Dutch in 2014

which was worse?

Congratulations to France, they were the team of the tournament and showed that they could adapt to so many different styles

vs Argentia
vs Uruguay
vs Belgium

Three very different, very excellent performances

Commiserations to Croatia, they were warriors and Modric deserved the golden ball

Allez Les Bleus

hard to say, Lloris' error was in a final so it was a more critical error in terms of potential ramifications but they had the match sewn up

Van Persie's goal made it 4-1 to the Dutch you could argue in paper that at 3-1 Spain could of fought back and that goal killed it completely but on the pitch Spain were already finished and it was matchday 1 of the tournament

France's victory over Croatia in the final makes them the first team since Brazil in 2002 to win the World Cup without the need for extra time or a penalty shootout in any match of the tournament.
