RE: Top Gear - ShandyHand - 07-04-2015 13:37 No further action to be taken against Clarkson by the police. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-32202245 RE: Top Gear - lovebabes56 - 07-04-2015 17:53 Typical BBC sack him and the police decide it doesn't warrant further investigation, and I guess that leaves it clear for Clarkson to sue the BBC... RE: Top Gear - CIA Snooper - 07-04-2015 18:57 The BBC didn't sack Clarkson. Even if they had, Clarkson would have no grounds to sue them. The level of evidence needed for an internal disciplinary is quite a bit lower than that required for a successful criminal prosecution. The fact that the victim refused to press charges is another factor. Clarkson reported himself to the BBC and admitted all the disciplinary charges against him so he has no grounds to sue the BBC. RE: Top Gear - *Kal-El* - 07-04-2015 21:05 Thats why i wish the media would get it right he wasn't sacked they just let his contract run down and not renew it. RE: Top Gear - bytor - 08-04-2015 17:17 Clarkson simply did not get his contract renewed. He is still able to work on other BBC programmes and indeed is once again due to chair a new episode of Have I Got News For You. RE: Top Gear - ShandyHand - 08-04-2015 17:21 ^Bytor, can I ask what you think would have happened if Clarkson had been in the middle of his contract? Clarkson will be the guest host of Have I Got News For You in just over 2 weeks on Fri 24th April. Will be an episode to watch as no doubt Hislop, Merton and the guest panelists will be giving clarkson a good roasting (roasting as in a Comedy Central style roast) RE: Top Gear - bytor - 09-04-2015 05:57 (08-04-2015 17:21 )ShandyHand Wrote: ^Bytor, can I ask what you think would have happened if Clarkson had been in the middle of his contract? I have a feeling the BBC would have kept him. Maybe censored him and taken the show off air until next year. Let the fuss die down a while and then bring him back. This episode will soon be forgotten by fans and those who don't care either way. Those that hate will still hate. RE: Top Gear - lovebabes56 - 09-04-2015 11:13 Either way, the losers of this whole episode are the fans of the show |
