Kyren got it done, 9-3. Fair play, he's really taking the mantle of "world champion" as something to build on. Also he doesn't inspire fierce hatred, which must be a plus.

Superb performance it must be said.

The Scottish Open starts tomorrow in Edinburgh with Gary Wilson looking to make it 3 successive titles.
The last ranking event of 2024 albeit with no Trump or Williams. Door potentially open for someone else to claim an important success.

Could this be the week Ding finally bothers trying to win his first HN event? Ditto Lisowski.

Booooooo annoyed.
Sooner he gets dumped out the better bladewave.

Elsewhere Mark Allen overcame Ryan Day 4-2 and Luca Brecel showed signs of better form in beating Zhou Yuelong 4-1. The tables are playing nicely which is helping produce a really excellent standard of play.
This evening Barry Hawkins edged out home favourite John Higgins 4-3.
Hawkins will face Wu Yize next after he beat Ishpreet Singh Chadha 4-2.
