I live in West Dorset, and it's been a Tory seat since it started in 1885. But not now! After 139 years as a Conservative seat only, it as finally been lost to the Liberal Democrats. I have not been this happy since Liverpool won the league after 30 years in 2020. Vive West Dorset!

Best Results for Lib Dems in a long time wonder if Ed Davey will go skate boarding or water skiiing to celebrate?

If there IS any realistic cautionary tale to all the results, I guess it's probably this - we can all look at the turnout overall - it is still below 70% I believe - I don't think it's been over 80% for a very long time, and wonder how that can be improved, but when you think how much damage has been done by Tory rule over 14 years, people are now fed up with how politicians behave.
To a degree I think deep down, Labour knows there is probably still a lot of hard work to be done to re-engage politics with the public at large and winning back trust and Keir has to find a way to make that turnout % change, the majority is one thing for him, but the real battle for me is only just starting - winning back the trust of the people in how the HOC acts.

It's the highest number of ministerial casualties in an election. The House is going to look vry different without JRM, Truss.Schapps, Mourdant.

How effective will the Conservatives be as Opposition. And the King gets to greet his First Official PM I think.
