Well i hope you all planned your replacements for Rooney because he just left the field and couldn't put any weight on his foot and was crying his eyes out. Don't look good if you ask me. I am absolutely gutted.

Chelsea fan or no Chelsea fan, i would rather utd win the quadruple than lose Wayne Rooney.

Fingers crossed until the World Cup squad is picked guys!

Oh shit..... that is bad news.... well if he's out, there goes any hope we had of doing anything at the finals. Sad

I won't kiss all hope goodbye yet, but it sounds similar to the injury that he got when that winker Ronaldo trod on his foot in that game against Portugal. Sad

fingers crossed guys SadSadSad

Sir Alex was only talknig about missing Saturday. TBH I'd rather he missed that and we lost and lost the title than Rooney missing the WC

I have to admit that out of the two, I believe Lampard has been slightly more consistent than Gerrard in an England shirt. Gerrard usually does it for Liverpool (although even he'll admit he's had a mediocre season, and Liverpool's form has faltered because of it), but cannot seem to repeat the performances for England. bladewave

Maybe its a slightly different position to what he's used to at club level...bladewave

They'll both play though because they do stand out way ahead of the rest of England's midfielders. And there's always more chance of goals with both in the side.Smile

Lampard is an excellent player in my view. I'm not a Chelsea fan, I'm a Wolves fan, but I have to say Lampard is one of the finest premier league players I've ever seen. He should be England captain ahead of Ferdinand. Smile

I think Gerrard or Rooney should be captain. Even if Steven is out of form he's a great leader and those 2 put the most in for England. Lampard is a fantastic player but not a leader

From what i've seen of it on tv and Ferguson's reaction i doubt that it's much more than a sprain, he'll be out for 2-3 weeks, tops.

Good news for saturday though laugh (Just kidding)

RE: Your England World Cup Squad! - Phoenix - 31-03-2010 15:00

Update is he's expected to be out 2-4 weeks

From a completely cynical and selfish point of view, this is a bit of a result for me personally

He's out of our game on Saturday, add on to that 3 or so more matches which won't do Man U's title challenge any favours...
BUT will still have plenty of time to recover for the World Cup Big Grin

RE: Your England World Cup Squad! - colino - 31-03-2010 15:09

It's not a result, it's bloody perfect!! Bounce

Couldn't have worked out any better, Chelsea come up on the rails and win the title, while good old Wayne gets a rest before the World Cup......... laugh

Even as a united fan it's better than this has happened now than in a month's time as colino says Rooney gets a rest. I've seen united win everything - I've not seen england win a world cup and we won't without rooney. United can still graft out results without him - England would be a shambles. Alternatively, by the time he comes back the title race could be over in which case he doesn't need to play full games, we could be out of the champions league and there really is no need for him to play more than half the game in england's friendlies. So it would be like having a fully fresh player - that noise you can hear is england's potential opponents shitting themselves.
