Nothing you can do other than change your ISP or use a proxy (see spooled's post or do a search for free proxies (generally shit, but cheaper than paid for ones Wink - I'd advise not messing about with proxies too much if you're not PC proficient though).

Besides that, its just a question of waiting (1 day, 1 week, 3 weeks, who knows - O2/Be won't give a date - just that they're working on it. When the same happened with hotfile, it took 2 weeks+). If you only have one or two files you need, I've noticed its possible to download for a few minutes between 3 - 4am, when few, if any other O2 members are active (negating the issue of mutiple people using the same IP address).

I have started getting the message very regularly now so what i end up doing is restart the computer and go back to it and it seems to work fine then, but very annoying.

Yes, no, sort of...

Megaupload (and Filesonic), or one of their URLs have been placed on the IWF filter list. The IWF is self-appointed, but recognised by government (I think). Their objective is to filter internet abuse, primarily child abuse. Some UK ISPs sign up to the list - it gains them more recognition & contracts from government (I think).

From my very limited understanding, some ISPs (O2, Be) force their users to access an IWF listed site via a proxy. This means that every user of Be & O2 accesses Megaupload using the same IP address. With most sites this wouldn't be an issue, but with a file host it is, as their software then sees what it believes to be a single user (same IP) accessing MU hundreds or thousands of times (when in fact its hundreds or thousands of users accessing a single time).

This is why you're getting the message "We have detected an elevated number of requests from your IP address".

From my understanding, premium MU users are managing to access files, although might be experiencing slow dowloads.

Thanks Skate, for the info.

I'm with BT, and I've only had that message & problem occur once.

I just changed my "Download Port Selection" option at the bottom of your Main page, after you login, and I've had no problem since.

Just done 2 d/l from MU and am now back to normal d/l speeds/time.

I am with Talk Talk.... no reply received from their support team ... see previous post

Perhaps my previous poor times were just because MU was generally limiting access ?

I don't even know if Talk Talk are signed up to IWF.

Edit : Just for info..I am a Premium MU user

Megaupload is still fucked for O2/Be users.

However, until things are fixed (or if they're not), I've discovered a way around it - replace the www part of the Megaupload url with ssl and the links will work as normal.

I won't bother creating a new thread for this, but for those that have been unable to download from Filesonic for the past month (primarily O2 & BeUnlimited users) due to it being blacklisted in the same way as Megaupload has been, the workaround is as follows:

Replace the www.filesonic.com part of the URL with 78.140.176.186
