That's all I ever use. RE: Capping - Questions, Advice Etc. - Firebird - 06-09-2014 14:32 Vlc player has a snapshot tool built in so when viewing a video just hit take a snapshot and pics get saved into My pictures or documents etc. I also use as preference for screen shots a shampoo snap5 or 6 http://www.ashampoo.com RE: Capping - Questions, Advice Etc. - munch1917 - 06-09-2014 14:45 (06-09-2014 01:20 )Scottishbloke Wrote: ... all you need is paint which is already installed on all computers and laptops ... Not true, it may be installed on all windows pc's and laptops, but people also use linux and mac I'd certainly agree that it's best to use an interactive capper though, and watch the video and pick the best moments to cap rather than simply auto-capping whatever happens along. VLC is a cross-platform video playing software and supports taking screencaps and does a pretty good job of it. If you insist on auto-capping, it can also be used to do that. Check the instructions here : http://icon-tutorial.livejournal.com/11259932.html Those instructions are for mac, and for an older version of VLC. For the most recent version (linux version) I had to adjust those instructions slightly. Go to : Tools-Preferences-Video-Filters Click the checkbox to open the list of filters, and choose the Scene filter to set your options. Now go back to the main filters tab and activate the filter by clicking the checkbox next to it in the list. Now play your video, and the screenshots will appear in your chosen folder. |
