fair enough not everyone will like it as much as others

I haven't seen the film yet, but can I ask how would people rank it compared to the last two batman films?

This has nothing to do with The Dark Knight Rises, but their is no proper discussion thread in this section of the forum, so I thought it would be good to put it here. But I'm wondering why nobody has never tried to make a decent film with The Riddler as the villain in a Batman film. I feel if it was done properly that The Riddler would be one of the best villains ever in the Batman films, only second to The Joker in the Dark Knight, which is no embarrassment, because of the great performance Heath Ledger gave as The Joker

the riddler is more suited to a tv series than a film that way you can build on the character and the cat and mouse chase betweeen batman and riddler.

the ending is open to a sequal but with a new batman.

and a new director....and therein lies the problem. If the franchise were to continue would a new director have the same vision as Nolan?
Likely as not as he will want to bring in his own style of direction, not use someone elses. You only need to look at what followed the two Tim Burton Batman movies to see what disasters followed on!

It probably will be a different director with a different take on it and won't follow Nolan's version of it, it will be hard for any one to take on such a task but as long as keep it more realistic and use the comic sources for stories like what nolan did where he based the films on various different Batman graphic novels which the batman universe is very rich with then the reboot will be fine.

Thats a pity for me to be honest. Nolan's version of the Batman films is brilliant and it would be hard for any other director to top that. Maybe there are directors out there similar to Nolan, who can carry on the great work by Nolan from the last few Batman films

I totally agree would have to seen more of Nolan on the Batman films the most we could possible hope for is that maybe he stays on as producer similar to what his doing with Superman: Man of Steel.

RE: The Dark Knight Rises - bigguy01 - 26-07-2012 23:36

its shame. he is the only bring the real character of batman/bruce wayne to front which was flawed yet brought hope to people.

i hope that if there is a reboot for the justice league film that they keep the realism and bring the source material to life and do the same with th rest. dc need to look at how marvel did it because thor, iron man, hulk, capt america were done by different directors yet the feel of each film was the same which helped the avengers film be successful. dc need to get about 3 directors for each film and have them share same vision.

zack snyder and chris nolan doing the superman film togehter should be epic. snyder have done 2 of my favourite films 300 and watchmen. cant wait for the 300 sequal and the sequal to his dawn of the dead called army of the dead.
