Did anyone hear that the mens GB team played a 60 minute behind closed doors match against Mexico and were bloody awful. Mexico won 1-0 and apparently they totally dominated and made us look like a cobbled together pub team. Be interesting to see how they do against Brazil tonight.

It wasn't 60 minutes, they played the full 90 minutes against Mexico. The Brazil match was a disappointment for the GB team, but then Brazil are the tournament favourites so that was always going to be a very tough game.

Don't forget Team GB women - they played last night as well with a 0-0 draw against Sweden.

Both GB men and GB women are through to the Olympic football quarter finals, both as group winners. The men now play South Korea in Cardiff on Saturday and before that the women play Canada in Coventry on Friday. Both tournaments look very open, with some favourites having gone out already, although both the GB men and the women are playing down their medal prospects. It's good to see the impressive attendances so far! Both the GB quarter finals will surely be a sellout.

The GB women were unfortunately beaten in their quarter final last night by a good Canada side. But Olympic medal hopes are still alive for the GB men who are just kicking off their quarter final tonight against South Korea.
