If the humidity slows Italy down it will slow England down. Same for both sides. And if its same for both sides - that means Italy win - because they're better. England will sit back and play for 0-0 anyway, so it won't matter if England are slow. When the main focus is on being hard to beat it's the opposition who need the energy. Advantage England. I think I'm joking but you never know with all the modern techniques. RE: World Cup 2014 - The Draw - Regenerated - 06-12-2013 22:56 Oh yeah... play for 0-0.. because it's served us so well in the past and we've beaten Italy and Uruguay so many times in competitive matches haven't we... Oh no, hang on... Just joking dude, but seriously - this is probably one of the worst outcomes we could have had. Both the other two nations have superior records over us and in recent major tournaments. Take the weather and the humidity and the climate and all the other factors to do with geographical location out of it, and the facts speak for themselves. Rankings, tournament records, previous meetings. The odds are stacked against us. God I bet the French are pissing themselves laughing right now! Toiled and almost missed out on the whole thing then get a draw handed to them on a plate. Jammy buggers! RE: World Cup 2014 - The Draw - lancealot790 - 06-12-2013 23:04 Lucky french to get such a nice draw..wonder how that happened? There were only 4 balls left at that stage, so it was a 25% chance of them being next out. But if they hadn't been drawn then they could maybe have gone into the last group instead which would also have suited them. PS. Because of Switzerland being made a seed it was always the case that someone would end up with a "nice" draw. RE: World Cup 2014 - The Draw - Regenerated - 06-12-2013 23:31 Games I'm most looking forward to in the groups are Spain v Holland, the rematch and USA v Germany - Klinsmann v his homeland. Should be intriguing. I fancy a couple of African sides to get to a second round or maybe even a quarter final. Ivory Coast have a good draw and I reckon they can qualify with Colombia. Ghana maybe pull a slight surprise by getting out of Group G. Nigeria will fancy their chances of getting out of group F with Argentina. A strong start against Iran will set up a potentially tasty match with newcomers Bosnia. RE: World Cup 2014 - The Draw - Phoenix - 06-12-2013 23:51 I'm alright with that draw actually. Uruguay are nowhere as good as they should be considering their frontline, & Italy are brilliant albeit getting on a bit, and hey, they couldn't score against us in 120 mins of football last time around. Was really hoping we got Brazil though RE: World Cup 2014 - The Draw - 7 stars of the orient - 07-12-2013 01:17 (06-12-2013 23:04 )lancealot790 Wrote: Lucky french to get such a nice draw..wonder how that happened? Ask Geoff Hurst - he picked the France ball. |
