RE: English County Cricket Season 2014 - Boomerangutangangbang - 21-04-2014 21:55 CC Div 1 Day 2 Northampton trail Yorkshire by 365 runs Yorkshire 459 Ballance 174 Northants 94 Spriegel 29 not out Brooks 5-36 Sidebottom 4-16 RE: English County Cricket Season 2014 - Boomerangutangangbang - 21-04-2014 22:03 An unusual world record for first class cricket was recorded as 8 of the Yorkshire batsmen were dismissed lbw. This is the 8th time this has happened in the same innings. RE: English County Cricket Season 2014 - Jack Bishop - 21-04-2014 22:14 Seems a lot of LBW type wickets around at the moment as Kent lost 12 (6 in each innings) of their wickets in their last match (against Worcester at New Road) which I was told was a record. RE: English County Cricket Season 2014 - Billy_Nomates - 22-04-2014 15:22 At the beginning of the season, with the ball seaming about on the juiced up pitches and the atmospheric overhead conditions, there will always be more LBW's given by umpires. RE: English County Cricket Season 2014 - Jack Bishop - 22-04-2014 19:18 The umpires seem to be more willing to give LBW decisions the last couple of years or so. Even to batsman who have taken a stride down the wicket. RE: English County Cricket Season 2014 - Boomerangutangangbang - 22-04-2014 22:08 CC Div 1 Day 3 Yorkshire 459 Northamptonshire 94 & 149-4 49 overs (following On). Trail by 216 runs RE: English County Cricket Season 2014 - Boomerangutangangbang - 23-04-2014 14:27 CC Div 1 Day 4 Yorkshire beat Norhamptonshire by an innings & 120 runs Yorkshire 459 Northants 94 & 245 (F/O) RE: English County Cricket Season 2014 - Jack Bishop - 23-04-2014 19:31 Yorkies the only team to win this CC round of games as rest of the games in Div 1 and all Div 2 ended in a draw. RE: English County Cricket Season 2014 - Boomerangutangangbang - 24-04-2014 00:21 I wouldn't be surprised if the newly promoted Northants & Lanc both go back into Div 2. Agree that both sides could struggle. Nhants promotion was based on a lot of wickets by Copeland last year who is not illegible to return this term however they do have great team spirit. IMHO Lancs were the best team in Div 2 by a country mile last season they have experienced players with a varied strong bowling attack so have a better chance on avoiding the drop probably at the expense Somerset who may struggle as well. |
