Or maybe we should submit some decent music worth voting for

Russia had the best song, shame politics always gets involved though.
Sweden was mostly about the presentation.

RE: Eurovision 2015 - Regenerated - 24-05-2015 00:33

I thought the top three - Sweden, Russia and Italy were all decent songs so any of them would have at least deserved the win. Congratulations to Sweden - they're closing in on Ireland's record of 7 wins, I believe this is Sweden's 6th?

It was nice to see several countries perhaps break ranks a little more tonight, ie not bow to politics quite as much. Russia were bypassed by several of their usual voting countries, even the Scandinavian countries didn't all vote for Sweden for once.

I think the Aussie's inclusion stirred things up a lot more. As an experiment from their point of view it worked with them scoring very well - "good evening Europe and good morning Australia" - never thought we'd hear those words in Eurovision - another first for this crazy, sometimes frustrating but always hugely entertaining competition. I think Spain are another one.
Bound to cause some resentment that Tongue.

It didn't seem to be a problem for Italy, who get automatic qualification for the final and finished 3rd this year, and were also runners up in 2011. Although Germany didn't do well this year, they were the winners in 2010.
Qualifying for the final automatically didn't do Australia any harm either, as they finished 5th I think it was this year, despite not being European either.

I always look at this way Eurovision is the pennence we have to do to get the World Cup coverage for the next 2 world cups Wink as the EBU have the european rights from fifa to them Wink

How this politically motivated shallow shite gets such coverage is beyond me. Got to feel sorry for all the struggling real musicians out there.

Well the UK managed to get 5 points.
The only saving grace was that they beat Germany and France

I believe that being fasted tracked to the finals works against us winning.
And I'd rather not being in the finals if we are going to enter this dross.

Maybe we should pass the show over to Simon Cowell to produce on ITV Wink

We only get fast tracked for the event cos we put a shit load of Cash into the EBU so we pay for it Wink they are not daft

Doesnt matter if we created a super group of the Stones, Mcartney and remaining members of the who or get Pink Floyd to reunite we will never win again

to be honest its because the industry does not need Eurovision so they treat it with distain
