I am unsure why this present outbreak is so serious and potentially fatal for the whole world.

It serious precisely because it is killing the young.

Most flues carry off the elderly or sick, or people with immune difficulties. This is apparently killing people between 20 - 50. and that's why the authorities are reacting.

Plus it seems highly contagious.

yet all the fatalities have happened either in Mexico or have some connection with Mexico ( the fatality in Texas was Mexican I Believe)
Is it something to do with the environmental conditions in Mexico as it seems with better and faster treatment in Europe and North America the virus seems (thankfully) less serious. Heres hoping that this more positive outlook continues

I heard there was swine flu panic in Japan, but I think it might just be a case of the rind leading the rind.

I dont want to bring bad news;
its just i wanted to know, What are your people's thought's about this whole swine flu outbreak, some people are calling it the worst flu ever. all i can say its a laugh seeing Gordon brown trying to come up with a solution to this, he should solve the credit crunch first and then worry about this Big Grin.
