Ben Stokes has signed to play for a New Zealand club Canterbury. And he won't now be joining the Ashes squad.

Second test today. After defeat in the first, England change the team with Overton replacing Ball. Root wins the toss and bowls, the first captain to field first in a day-night Test anywhere.

Australia 160 -3 ...
It's not easy to follow now that the match is only being broadcast on BTSport

Tea on the second day and Australia are 306/6. It helped that they managed to get 2 dismissals overturned using the DRS.

It didn't look too bad for England when Australia were 209/5 and then 311/7, but they eventually ended up with 442/8 declared. Not good at all after Root put them in. Stoneman went before the close of play too, leaving England on 29/1 at stumps on the second day.

England all out for 227

absolutely pitiful Aussies 220 ahead

I'd say no chance of saving this match
