Nope, sadly. There's many ways they can help anonymously.

Residents unhappy with May's announcement of a public inquiry, as this is controlled by the government. Right way is to have a coroner's inquiry which is not controlled by government. Concern that May and Co have things to hide.

May has been an absolute Jonah for the CONservative partySad Hanging an Albatross round her neck could be the only solutionlaughlaughlaugh

Many MP's would probably argue that the refit of the Houses of Parliament - given it's age - is money well spent compared to the cost of refitting and installing a proper working sprinkler system to a tower block over 30+ years old but if our buildings regulations are as some point out - 10 years out of date - then they need to be brought up to date as quickly as possible and tightened as much as possible councils should face fines or prosecution if residents concerns about anything like this are not listened to

ALL the politicians talk talk talk...but do fuck all..wheter for the poor or the rich..Importantannoyed
They do a lot more fuck all for the poor, though.

Tower blocks as a concept are about saving money and saving space. Governments have been cutting corners in housing for decades (Harold McMillan got a rep in the 50s for building 500k homes... he did this by making the planned houses smaller to use less materials). The housing sector is mostly an oligopoly for private firms like Bovis anyway.

Tory council leader blames residents for fire :-
http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/shameless-tory-council-leader-blames-grenfell-tower-block-residents-for-lack-of-sprinklers-claiming-they-didnt-want-disruption/ar-BBCK0uN?li=BBoPWjQ&OCID=ukdhp-v

Well he would blame them, being Tory and all wouldn't he?

^ Some of the reporting of this is shameless. Nowhere in his interview did he blame anyone. Of course mistakes have been made but can we please get the facts out and not become a mindless mob baying for blood. Frankly I'm disgusted this tragedy happened and disgusted at some of the reporting and the political capital being made of it before a proper investigation has been undertaken. The victims and their families deserve better.

^you're right mate. god knows i'm no tory apologist but he didn't say any thing unreasonable , if he was infact being truthful. people might well have turned down the sprinklers option if they were told containment would work just as well. remember, unnecessary water damage can be as destructive as fire damage (when you eliminate the obvious) and installing sprinklers would be very intrusive.

perspective is needed in this situation although it is understandably difficult.

Apparently the cladding used is banned in the us for being a fire risk & if just £5,000 extra was spent on cladding a fire resistant version would have been used instead
