reckon this is the test where players need to cement down their places for the Ashes tour down Under
First Test to be heled at HQ in September always felt the traditional series closer at the Oval was always a traditional signal for me that the season was almost over
Also will mark the last TMS commentary from Henry Bloefeld as he retires brings back memories when John Arlott retired at Lord's

The first day saw 14 wickets fall as England closed the day on 46/4. Even that's an improvement as it had been 24/4.

West indies doing alright for a team who have no decent players at all according to some, personally i rate kemar roach highly especially when he bowls over the wicket, then again england only have a few class players themselves and now were stuck with westley and co for the ashes sorry but they are not test class.

This match is about the weather conditions and the pitch. Tests aren't usually played in September for a reason.
