Anyone who wants to own a weapon like that should be automatically banned from having it! Fair few years ago I worked in the US in Maryland (so not redneck central, democratic state, fairly liberal if you exclude Baltimore) and our local mall had an Outdoor Outfitter (hiking boots, coats, tents, etc) like we do here. Major difference was that they had a whole section for guns (including semi automatics) and a firing range where you could try them out. People would wander through and peruse the same as they would looking for a coat. Saw a couple of 10 year olds with their parents sizing up their first gun (or at least I hope it was the first). Its just no big deal to Americans. I'm not anti-gun; I have a shotgun (I'm from a farming family not a gangster ) so I'm not that twitchy about guns. But its just so much the norm out there its scary. I bet they would much rather sooner rush in a law banning first person shooter games like COD outright than worry about their own personal safety(03-10-2017 12:31 )The Silent Majority Wrote: The 2nd amendment belongs to a different era. The arms they bore were single shot muskets and much of the country was largely lawless or populated by savages (in their eyes). The clue really is in the question - it's an amendment, not an inviolate right from God. And if it could be amended once, then logically, it could be amended again...
