I think it is harsh on leaving Curran out for Stokes as he performed so well I think in terms of the trial it should have been done and dusted a lot sooner (if it had meant missed the Ashes last winter) and Stokes if the same verdict that had been reached this week last winter Stoke would have been free for selection this summer. However there is still the disciplinary procedure of the ECB to go through and although I feel Stokes has been punished enough I do think the disciplinary hearing will probably impose some small fine on him and warn him of his future conduct.

England just about edged the morning session after taking a wicket on the last bowl before lunch. Woakes was the star performer with his 3 wickets.

Good bowling by Anderson and Broad managed to finish of the Indian tail and restrict India to 329 all out.
But the ball was swinging and seaming all over the place.
