The biggest highlights for Part V were the Flash backs scenes and Darth Vader being a totally bad ass.

Ep Part VI Season 1 finale.

All am gonna say is that cameo at the end.

^ Yeah, though kind of expected especially from Obi-Wan's musings in the opening episode

The finale saved this series somewhat. The cuts between the two fight scenes was reminiscent of TESB & ROTJ.

Yeah they just about got away with that. This entertaining denouement to the series made up for those rather soggy middle episodes and a general lack of care in some awkward plotting.

The shows apparent continuity issues, ranted over ad nauseam by a ton of YouTubers, were, at least, each addressed in turn. Whether you buy the fudges suggested then becomes (to paraphrase Obi-wan) a matter of your point of view. Overall we are left with some rather dodgy writing stitching together some exciting action/visual splendor and occasional dubious acting. Nice to look at but could've been a lot more.

Next up Andor is it not.

So if nothing else we now know that "Obi Wan" is ancient Jedi for "never finishes anything". To quote the Emperor, henceforth he shall be known as.... Half A Job Kenobi!

Let's be honest, McGregor held this together so well be should change his name to Super Glue. Most of the rest of the cast was average at best although they weren't given a lot to work with by the writers.

At least old Obi Wan finally got his mobile signal sorted by the end of the show so he could chat to his friend. Yodafone have always been a bit crap.

Enjoyed the finale with a great cameo at the end. overall Obi-Wan has been very good but the worst of the various live action spinoff series so far

RE: Obi-Wan Kenobi - *Kal-El* - 23-06-2022 01:16

For me the finale just lacked something, yeah the fight scenes were good along with the cameos and set for the movies but overall the series has been a mixed bag. Part of its biggest problem is not doing enough explaining with the plot and fleshing out characters. Then there’s the pacing, Leia being kidnapped multiple times. The story was all over the place and predictable I guessed most of it before the end of the season. Another problem is with 6 eps it felt like it was going at a slow pace then they realise they only have one more Ep left. The Darth Vader action scenes for me saved it. Overall I enjoyed it but didn’t love it.

"Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering"

I'm afraid to say this finale made me angry. I hated it. So you must all now suffer through this post.

I think film schools of the future will use this as a case study for the "show don't tell" lesson.

Disney gives its audience no credit whatsoever. As if we all hadn't predicted what Reva would do at the end, when the moment actually came they didn't trust us to make the connection between the present and the past. They had to intercut those scenes just to drive the point home.

Do you get what's happening? Do you? Do you!? Hmmm, we better spoonfeed it to you, just in case.

And they put hackneyed dialogue in Darth Vader's mouth, just to reaffirm Obi Wan's slightly dickish "point of view" line in Return of the Jedi. Then they put more hackneyed dialogue in Obi Wan's mouth, just to fix the plot hole they created themselves by making him best mates with Leia in the first place.

Gah! I'm so angry I could turn to the Dark Side.

For me, not as bad as I expected, but should have been a lot better than it was.
Is it wrong that the thing that bugged me most, was them trying to convince us that Ewan was somehow an old man. Annoying. lol.

With the original trilogy, New Hope, Empire and Jedi, they basically changed the story after New Hope it was planned so that’s why it’s little over the place. Big example is Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader where actually supposed to be two different people, also Vader was supposed to die in New Hope.
