England took a few early wickets but were unable to take full advantage.

On a rain effected day South Africa ended on 208-6

I expect even if we win this series as a whitewash it won't affect our standing in the World Test championship very much

We can't win this series as a whitewash, because we have already lost a test.

England have done well today.
Bowled SA out for 209 in their 1st innings, taking the last four wickets for one run.

Follow on enforced.
South Africa 74/5.
England still lead by 216 runs.

RE: England Tour of South Africa 19/20 - Charlemagne - 19-01-2020 17:25

South Africa ended the day on 102-6. Root taking 4 wickets

RE: England Tour of South Africa 19/20 - Charlemagne - 20-01-2020 12:52

A good morning for England as they took the last 4 South African wickets.
They won by an innings and 53 runs

The 4th Test and Woakes is in for Bess as England go for an all seam attack. Anyhow Root and Denly can bowl spin if needed and Root even got wickets in the last match. England have won the toss (again) and are batting first.

Rabada is not eligable to play in this match (he's been a bad boy) and the South African attack looks tame.
Currently England are 62-0. Sibley has been caught out off a no-ball Rolleyes

Looks like a good toss for Root to have won. Even the no-ball catch was the result of the batsman chasing a poor ball rather than anything the pitch is offering.
