The day was set up by a 121 run stand between Root & Bairstow, but the wicket of Moeen Ali saw the last 5 wickets fall for 50 runs, as India prevented what was looking like a sizable deficit.

The pitch has now got inconsistant bounce. They need to get India out cheaply.

Lords may be the best ground in England, but it's not the best wicket, very little pace & carry. Batsmen finding scoring freely difficult.
England got the key wicket of Kohli before lunch, Sam Curran finally got his first wicket of the series & it was the big one. Think it took Pujara 35 balls to get off the mark, to a massive cheer, & more cheers now as he's into double figures with 11 runs from 90 balls.

After looking well on top in the morning session, with India 55-3, the game was starting to have the feel of a draw with the slow nature of the pitch. During the 100 run partnership between Pujara & Rahane, England created many half chances & kept the scoring in check, so that when the breakthrough came, with the unrelenting pace of Wood seeing off the stubborn Pujara, they lead was still manageable. Moeen chipped in with the wickets of Rahane & the dangerous Jadeja with an unplayable delivery. All result are possible on the final day.

England stand at 67-4, & have 38 overs the survive, or for the optimistic, they require a further 205 runs. Chances have taken a dip, Root is out 3rd ball after tea.
The day started well for England with Robinson removing the danger-man Pant & then Sharma. That was the last success they had, as Bumrah (34) & Shami (56) allowed India the luxury of a declaration shortly after lunch. All the talk before the match was about India having a long tail, against England's lower order batting strength.

England blown away, 120 all out in 51.5 over (target 272 60 overs), a 151 run defeat. Only Root, Buttler, & Ali got into double figures. A great effort by India's pace attack, but on this pitch England should've been able to bat out for a draw.
Root held his hand up, over the bowling tactics employed to India's lower order. Expect more personnel changes for England in the 3rd Test. Wood must be a serious doubt, Sibley is done, & Sam Curran is a luxury that England cannot afford, a genuine wicket taker has to come in.

That was bloody painful to watch similar to earlier in the year where England had India on the ropes and couldn't finish the job and they get humiliated
Definitely agree that changes need to be made its been a problem for the last couple of years
