Ireland have waved the need for Ukrainian refugees to have a VISA

Vladimir Putin has been suspended as honorary president of the International Judo Federation (IJF) following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Interesting this transport that boris visited this morning went to poland circled 3 times and then went back home unless they dropped there cargo at 22,000 ft which is possible but unlikely i get the whiff of a publicity stunt

That's what Hitler thought about Leningrad and that siege didn't work out too well. Leningrad never surrendered even after the food ran out. They just started eating the dead bodies. The siege went on for over 2 years.

Then there's the cost of the whole thing. Putin's apparently paying £15 billion a day to keep this war going. A siege which could easily last for weeks if not months or even years doesn't sound like a promising strategy.

International sanctions such as the SWIFT block are going to increasingly become a problem. Plus foreign arms are increasingly flooding into Ukraine, meaning that Putin needs results now, not at some point in the future.

Going into Stalingrad didn't work out well either. There are no winners either way.

Reuters -

Regional Governor says Ukrainian Forces have retaken full control of Kharkiv.

If true that's massive news. It looks increasingly like the Russian Supply Lines are stretched beyond breaking point. If they can't hold a city within spitting distance of the border, they're in big trouble.

Reuters reporting that Russia is increasing its Nuclear Alert status. This is beginning to look like the end game for Putin as rowing back from such action whilst retaining power becomes increasingly difficult.

Meanwhile a Ukrainian delegation will meet a Russian delegation on the Belorussian border

Possibly a sign of de-escalation? If things were going the way that Putin intended would he have agreed to this?

Yes if true it's a significant setback for the Russian forces.

By the way, a word for the brave people in Russia who are staging protests against the war, despite knowing they are almost certain to be arrested and apparentlly are being threatened with 20 years in jail.
