India cantered home!! Made it look like the easiest batting track of them all!

Coold be looking at the tournament's first upset and England have only themselves to blame. Woakes erratic with the new-ball again, Willey and Atkinson deserve a game.

That is being kind Booms! Woakes terrible, but Sam Curran the same! I am not convinced he is a limited overs bowler?? especially as pitches get flatter and flatter (on which subject Doully was wrong again today)

Afghanistan take their biggest scalp to date, with a 60 odd run victory! Looks more and more like England will have to do a 2019 all over again! Even tougher this time, given how many games in this initial stage left to play, and I reckon they can't afford to lose more than one more! Tougher opposition to come too!

Gurbaz is renowned for an innings like that, we weren't ready for him, As I've said, if Curran plays he needs 2 or 3 overs with the new-ball. I agree Curran is a far better 20/20 bowler, they are banking on his IPL experience. I don't see this side defending a total, unless they go big. I never fancied England in the chase today, 250 max agianst their spin attack.
I'm getting tired of hearing about defending Champions. this is not the same team. No Archer or Plunkett. I don't like the stubbornness to stick with an underperforming Woakes. The best batter today, Brook will more than likely miss out to Stokes if he's fit.

England's bowlers were again second rate. By comparison the Afganistan fast medium bowlers got seam and swing whilst the England bowling was gunbarrel straight. And their spinners are the quality part of their game.

Was the difference between the fast bowlers the ball, or did the conditions change or was it the bowling.

And England need Ben Stokes in the team. Livingstone may have had a good IPL but for England he's just been poor.

England need to move Livingstone up the order personally
Still not convinced about the bowling attack could have tried Atkinson out ah well roll on the next game

Would agree, we can only afford one more defeat and I think for the most part, without Archer or Plunkett in attack we aren't the same team we were in 2019. The pitches are more likely to get far more in favour of who bats first in our games and if we put other teams in first, we need to be far more accurate with bowling, and put the balls in the right areas. If we bat first, then we have have to be far more aggressive and take the opposition bowling apart better which is easier said than done, Another heavy defeat will see us coming home far quicker than we anticipated.

Comprehensive from Australia today versus Sri Lanka! Neither side really laid down a marker (no side bar maybe NZ have done so) but Sri Lanka with the bat, from a position of strength, were as bad as I have seen a team manage their innings when seeking to set a target, for a very long time! They certainly gave the Aussies a leg up!

I think India might have something to say about that.

I feel like the tournament is well and truly alive, after England's loss (no big surprise) and now South Africa making a mess of things against the Netherlands.
