Members with Agendas
Completely out of the blue, minding my own business, & I happen upon a reply to one of my posts accusing me of moaning & having nothing positive to says. Not for the first time. Strangely this was their first post for over 4 months, yet they chose to personally attack another member, quite pathetic. Having been accused, & cleared of attacking them in the past, it would seem that they had returned to posting here with an agenda against me. My post that they replied to was neither positive or negative, vanilla I'd say, not that there's any forum rules against either.
To you all I have to say, is get a life you saddo, move on & stop acting like some weird internet stalker.

^ It's the cure of the fanboys. They go way overboard with the defence of their favourate girl. They end up insulting other members who they feel as being against their babe or worse still go for others who they think are threats.
However it can sadly go wrong if the babe does something which the fanboy takes offence. And it then ends with the fanboy becoming an anti fanboy. I know of a recent case.

Musicians who willingly let their hit songs be used in crappy adverts. Just heard Spandau Ballet's Gold used for some wretched product; the worst example is Queen's Flash flogging a cleaning product. Don't tell me "well, darlings, Freddie loved to clean, what better memorial could there be?!" because that's just crap.

Could the same be said of using old TV show theme tunes? I'm sure there have beeen many instances.
As far as I'm aware I think any rights to songs expires after a certain period of time and I would think it is then up to bands/musicians to give their blesssing to advertisers to do so. I know we have 'Crown Jewels' of TV sports event that rermain on FTA ^ wonder if we need to go the same way with songs, so they are protected enough to stop advertisers using them.

You're wrong about Queen, as the rights to their material are owned by Sony rather than any musician. You're right about Spandau Ballet though, as Gary Kemp still owns the rights to his songs and would have licensed the advertising use that you refer to.
