The report will be delayed for weeks, which buys Boris some time on one hand, although of course on the other this police investigation is a major escalation of the issue. Thing is, the crisis in Ukraine is giving him a welcome diversion, where his international statesman attributes (yes, I concede he does have some) flourishes and to an extent temporarily partially blanks out all the negatives of his domestic difficulties. There was a view in the media I picked up on last week that Boris had let this story run to let the media run away with the story and overdo it. For every person enraged by partygate and No.10's hypocrisy over breaking their own rules in lockdown, there looks to be 2 people who have just got fed up with it and think there are more important issues, such as rising energy costs and cost of living. However, that there is a police investigation now does amplify the situation. Plus, Sue Grey's report looks like its going to be seriously damning and be very difficult for him, as it looks like she's leaving no stone unturned. Looks like he's toast. RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson - Cooper_temple - 25-01-2022 17:53 Latest :Officials have handed over to investigators photos of parties in Downing Street which include images of Boris Johnson Sue Gray was given the pictures of people close together with wine bottles. RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson - SecretAgent - 25-01-2022 20:18 Conor Burns MP defending Johnson on Channel 4 News tonight “he was in a sense ambushed by a cake” His defenders are tying themselves on knots more & more each day and with that I presume trying to get a nice gong in Johnsons’ resignation honours. RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson - Tumble_Drier - 25-01-2022 20:51 Ambushed by cake? Where do I sign up? What kind of fucking party were they having? Profumo all over again... No wonder Sue Gray is checking with lawyers...!!!!! RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson - Factotum - 25-01-2022 22:25 Just as a sideshow to the main discussion. I do wonder how long Carrie will stick with him once he's out the door. Disgraced ex PM, a "has been". She'll have a divorce settlement and 18 years of child support. I wonder if he kept Arcuri's number.... RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson - The Silent Majority - 25-01-2022 23:19 I wonder who'll get custody of the wallpaper. RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson - lovebabes56 - 26-01-2022 07:58 If that proves to be the case, then how can we trust politicians to make a decent positive decision for the good of the country again? If Boris Johnson white washes that report (as he most likely will do so) the cunt proves yet again what a first class cunt of a PM he is. I doubt Biden spends no more than 10 mins on the phone with him. Am I right in thinking the Queen doesn't see or speak to him for very long either? Has Johnson now made either the role of Conservative leader or PM something of a poisoned chalice? RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson - winsaw - 26-01-2022 11:17 The fact the report is being published before PMQ makes me think it pretty much clears bojo or at least can't pin anything on him , and he will use PMQ to sack a few staff to take the fall |
