I don't think you can compare Spurs to Barcelona, they were an immensely difficult side who just didn't bring their A game, but Spurs are a hard side there's no doubt about that but again Liverpool will know all about them and although they will have the likes of Moura, Ali, Eriksen etc WE will have Salah, Firmino, Mané etc because they are still without Kane and Dier. SO I think Liverpool have every chance of doing it - it depends which team turn up on the night-the fighting one I hope like Tuesday. Don't write us off just yet. As to the title chase well that is going to be harder and it all depends now on Brighton & Hove Albion and their fans, if not then we gave it a bloody good try.

I guess on the bright side you had 24 hour to get flights booked for Madrid so the Spurs fans will have to contend themselves with either coach and boat travel and bed and breakfast accommodation as all the hotels will be booked by Liverpool Tongue Tongue Big Grin

The recommendation from travel expert Simon Calder is to book a holiday somewhere in Spain and then on the day take a train to Madrid. It will work out a lot cheaper that way.

It is just possible they could have Kane back. Whichever way it goes this final is going to be a real humdinger and may well define Liverpool's whole season. All it needs is for Chelsea and Arsenal to get through and you will have another all English final in Europe.

I had to laugh at that chap who was listing all the teams that they had beaten and then at the end he says "and we'll do Liverpool as well" Not so fast my friend, Spurs may have pulled off a last-minute gasp but I think Liverpool will give them a better game and I confidently predict a win for Liverpool and trophy No.6 - of course I could be wrong but we need a bit of hope after this incredible season and I cannot believe that Liverpool will throw this chance away.

Didn't I tell you Reds fans to believe? Smile

A fabulous achievement to defeat Barcelona. I said anything was possible at Anfield with the atmosphere on European nights. Well done indeed.

In my opinion out of winning the two possible trophies, the Champions League is more likely. That's not disrespecting Spurs but I think Liverpool will do it. Spurs, for all their goal scoring, they do concede a lot aswell. I don't think Liverpool will allow them as many chances as Ajax did and will have learned a lot of lessons from the Barcelona tie about staying in the game.

As for the Premier League, all you can do is your best and you should beat us, as we've already secured seventh place. We're just reliant now on City blowing Watford away in the FA Cup final to guarantee Europa League. The final day can still generate pressure so we'll see on Sunday. Will still be an exciting finish. Smile

^I bet if anyone told you would finish in 7th at the start of the season you probably think they were mad, lol. In all seriousness mate, it is a complete transformation from when you was last in the PL has been amazing to see. I don't how many managers you've been though since you were last in the PL, it has been a air few I think, but this is a manager you def need to keep hold of for a good while. His style of football is refreshing to see and it has been a VERY good reason why you've managed to get points off teams or beaten most of the top six teams. It will be nervous and a humdinger of a final day of the season, not good for every football fan's nerves I admit, but still I think it will be quite a game.

RE: Liverpool FC - lovebabes56 - 12-05-2019 08:32

Good luck guys I think that you will do it!!

Virgil Van Dyck has been named the Premier League Player of the Year

RE: Liverpool FC - GMach1 - 12-05-2019 13:48

Well that's FAB! (Thunderbirds reference there to Virgil) Coming soon the end of a hell of a Premier League season - I think Man City will win the title race, I mean Brighton & Hove Albion could cause an upset but I doubt it, and Liverpool should beat Wolves(but we take nothing for granted and rightly so) but either way we are back in the Champions League next season(regardless of winning or losing this final) and I reckon we could get some really good players in the Summer to come to Anfield. Jurgen Klopp is the most extraordinary manager we've ever had, certain the most demonstrative in the way he celebrates and gets the crowd going and I would be very surprised if left the club so a new contract must be a shoo-in. Liverpool have done themselves, the City and the game proud and in the 30th anniversary year of Hillsborough, the memory of the 96 proud too. What a ride it has been.

Jeff Stelling mentioned earlier on Soccer Sunday that Liverpool haven't lost a League game at Anfield since April 2017 so it really has become fortress Anfield a ground feared to tread by opposition again (like Barcelona found out on Tuesday). The Title is out of our hands but we need to do our part by beating Wolves today & hope we can capitalize on Man City slipping & Brighton causing the upset. The final day of the season can sometimes throw some huge curve-balls & unpredictable results & fingers crossed Chris Hughton & his Brighton team can cause one.But as Paul Merson mentioned on Soccer Sunday regrdless of whether Liverpool win the title or not today this Liverpool squad will get even better next season & are here for the long haul.YNWA.
