RE: Coronavirus - is enought being done to contain it? - lovebabes56 - 24-03-2020 18:01 I imagine they will likely look at other venues like the Excel centre if they get the planning and distancing right. I would say Hancock can come across as a being a good bloke but I think he talks far more intelligently than Boris. If the virus gets a grip in one of them it will devastate communities and I’d guess exceed the deaths anywhere else in the world. Could it be the case that that won't happen because they will have developed antibodies through not living in a sanitised, antiseptic, air-conditioned environment? RE: Coronavirus - is enought being done to contain it? - lovebabes56 - 24-03-2020 18:05 I'm on the fence on how India will cope, but we have to hope it's not as bad as we all think it will be. RE: Coronavirus - is enought being done to contain it? - lovebabes56 - 24-03-2020 21:27 WORK UPDATE: - Today was very quiet and now I have a decision to make. When I arrived at work The Area Manager was holding voice conferences and clearly the timing of the statement from Boris last night, has pretty much created a logistical nightmare for many businesses, and having spoken to my actual store manager tonight I have tomorrow off, but I'm in Thursday to initiate the store closure procedure, going through stock that would have to disposed of etc but the decision i have to make is really about whether I want to work in another store and both have said that whatever decision I made they would understand. If I was to work in another store, there is travelling by public transport to be made and I'm not too sure if it would be right to travel and expose myself any further risk when I weigh up the fact I have had 100% customer contact recently and I think I would have to sit down and talk everything through in a way that everybody will understand my decision. The other thing is I feel my seat or space on public transport is better served & should be better used by the really essential workers and that is our brave and hard working NHS staff. RE: Coronavirus - is enought being done to contain it? - The Silent Majority - 24-03-2020 22:01 Roads in this area haven't been as quiet as I thought they would've been through the day, but they're absolutely dead tonight. Local chippy was open though, which surprised me. It's a very cramped little shop, there's no way they can achieve the 6ft rule in there. Boris can't bring himself to actually say it, but Sturgeon's been calling it lockdown from the get go. And she's closed down all construction work, unless it's hospital work. They seem to be letting that continue in England RE: Coronavirus - is enought being done to contain it? - winsaw - 25-03-2020 03:14 Got issued with a letter tonight to show the police I am a critical worker if they pull me over on the way to or from work, They have started to pull people at least 3 people got stopped on the way into work tonight, hope they keep it up as when I went in this afternoon the roads where as busy as usual in town no way all those people should have been driving, Also police have informed the company that from Thursday only 2 people are allowed in a car 1 in front and 1 in back it's a £35 on the spot fine if you break it, |
