RE: Liverpool FC - southsidestu - 01-06-2019 21:53 Congratulations to Liverpool A fantastic team with a fantastic manager that deserve to be European Champions RE: Liverpool FC - GMach1 - 01-06-2019 22:06 Someone rang up BBC Radio 5live last year and said Klopp should go...I bet he feels really stupid now! RE: Liverpool FC - GMach1 - 02-06-2019 17:13 The pictures of the buses with the players etc on and the crowds along the parade route are phenomenal, I've never seen so many people crowded into one area near the docks(and I've been there myself) apart from the idiots with flares, it appears to be good-natured and typical Scouse humour-the BBC reporter and his cameraman perched high up had to duck when a football came sailing past them What a day! I never thought I would see that again, Liverpool champions of Europe-just one behind AC Milan now but considerably more behind the leaders Real Madrid. As I read it Liverpool will not be in the Club World Cup as FIFA has changed it to every FOUR years not each year BUT we will be in the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea in August and the Community Shield against Man City also in August. I also read that European teams will fear us but it will also mean we should be able to attract some quality players should we need them. I thought we were pretty poor last night, the defence got caught napping but Allison made some fantastic saves including the one from Kane. Robertson was so close in the first half but apart from all that we won and sealed a fantastic season where it only took ONE point to win a title - but it was TWO goals that got us the European Cup(Champions League) and a sixth title-incredible! Turns out we are playing in the Club World Cup. Location Qatar - in December. More silverware to go for. How does Liverpool - World Champions sound? RE: Liverpool FC - GMach1 - 03-06-2019 17:06 Ah okay so we will be. December eh? World Champions would be really good too. AS for Klippety Klopp, we need to give him a new contract asap, we cannot allow him to be head-hunted by someone else. Also we will need to have a lot of players redo their contracts. I firmly believed that Salah and Mané would have gone had we not won and that would have been a real tragedy. I also feel sorry for Nathaniel Clyne and Dominic Solanke - had they stayed they too would have been European champions. I hope next season that Rhian Brewster is given a start as I feel he could be a great star for Liverpool. In all honesty European Champions are World Champions because they UEFA division is so far ahead. Given that they are being played in December which is the same time as the Premier League log jam and in conditions where the max temp is 24 degrees Celsius and a humidity level of 71% its not ideal for playing extra games. I was wondering what Liverpool fans think of John Henry and FSG? It was not that long ago that FSGOUT was to be seen trending online. However they brought in one of the world's most sought after managers and in building this champions league winning squad they spent: £34m on Mane (the club record at the time was £35m) A new club record of £50m on Salah Just shy of that record in £48m on Keita A new club record & world record for a defender in £75m for Van Dijk A then world record for a GK in £66.8m Alisson On top of all that they have expanded Anfield to 54,000 keeping Liverpool FC in its home and have plans to develop the Anfield Rd stand and bring full capacity to 61,000 All of this and Liverpool have managed to announce a record pre-tax profit of £125m for year to May 31st 2018. All of the three main revenue streams: media, commercial & matchday were up on the previous year. The post tax profit is £106 million (£39m the previous yr), now a lot of people will point to the sale of Coutinho but even though that has been widely reported as £142 million, it is only once clauses have been met. The initial fee was £105m and since he was sold in January 2018 and this is up to May 2018 I am willing to bet these clauses may of not been met and they spent £75.5m on Van Dijk in the same month so most of the increase will have not come from Countinho. All of this has seen Liverpool rise 2 places to 7th in the Deloitte rankings. Yet in the summer of 2018 the club spent £173m in transfers so the money is going into the clubs and not lining Henry's pockets. FSGIN ? RE: Liverpool FC - GMach1 - 04-06-2019 23:47 He's not done a bad job has he, although his promise of titles and trophies didn't quite go to plan. Even more pressing matters it looks as if Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno are off this Summer and I also see that Real Madrid are sniffing around Mo Salah again as they are worried that Man Utd might make a bid-I hope Mo stays now he is a European champion - he might have gone had we not won anything at all this season. The wolves are on the prowl, the vultures circling and we MUST fend off all those that would seek to snatch him and other players from us. RE: Liverpool FC - Nadam - 05-06-2019 03:25 Dunno if Salah, or indeed Mane, are quite ready yet for the step up to Real Madrid. More consistency from both over the next season or two should be enough to prove that they could cut it at the Bernabéu. RE: Liverpool FC - lovebabes56 - 05-06-2019 07:03 The quicker Klopp extends the contract he has the more likelihood you can fend off the vultures as I'm convinced with Klopp confirming a new contract is the key to Salah, Mane staying longer as I think Klopp knows how to handle Salah and brings the best out of him. Is it worth sacrificing the best chance you have in possibly winning the PL title and chasing the Club World Cup? I think Klopp himself only knows the answer to that as I think he would want the PL title more than anything else. |
