RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Snooks - 05-09-2015 22:58 Federer is in excellent form at the moment. Not dropped a set. Rolling through his matches with minimum of fuss so far. RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Snooks - 06-09-2015 03:22 Andy Murray is through to round four at Flushing Meadows after sweeping past Thomaz Bellucci in straight sets 6-3 6-2 7-5. A solid and mature performance under the lights from the Scot. Ahem ahem. Don't you mean 'a solid and mature performance under the lights from the Brit?' he is only A Scot when he loses!!!!!!!!! RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Snooks - 06-09-2015 11:20 I think he considers himself a Scot first and a Brit second . RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - setter1000 - 06-09-2015 12:30 Ufortunately for him he was part of the noisy minority not the silent majority. The majority have spoken and whether he likes it or not, he is British till of course, next time he loses. Than he becomes a Scottish plonker It really is amazing what he and to a lesser extent Henman have done for British tennis. Before they came along use to get excited about a Brit getting to the third round of a tournament. Now don't really bother tuning in to the quarter final safe in the knowledge that in all probability he will get there. I know he is keen to leave behind a legacy of a genuine world class British player but unfortunately through no fault of his own it does not seem to be happening. I fear he will leave a big void in the British game when he has gone. Dan Evans seemed to be a promising prospect but seems to have fallen by the wayside. RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Snooks - 06-09-2015 22:40 Serena Williams continues her quest for the calendar slam after beating Madison Keys 6-3 6-3 in round four at the US Open. Her next opponent............ her sister Venus. RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - lovebabes56 - 07-09-2015 06:41 I think Konta must have set some kind of record with this unbeaten run for a British woman tennis player RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - lovebabes56 - 07-09-2015 06:43 (06-09-2015 11:20 )snookered147 Wrote: I think he considers himself a Scot first and a Brit second . Probably putting a smile on Scottish fans' faces after that defeat to Georgia at the weekend!! RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Snooks - 07-09-2015 22:15 Murray in deep trouble against big serving South African Kevin Anderson. A set down and 1-3 down in the 2nd set. Mountain to climb now. RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - mikedafc - 08-09-2015 00:08 Murray fighting back winning 3rd set 7-6 on tie breaker, Jo Konta on serve 5-6 against Kvitova |
