I'll give 'em about 3 days before the cracks start showing.
Something will happen, the media will get hold of it and then it'll be ''Did Kia know?''
Glad that Corbyn and Farage made the cut.

^ Oops my bad, post amended Wink.

On a serious note I have to echo the sentiments expressed here by Larry the Cat.
For all the justified criticism of Sunak he conceded with good grace.
Penny Mordaunt was equally gracious too in her concession speech.

Take note Trump bladewave.

There are differences Reform got more than double the amount of votes than The Greens, came second in a large number of seats & were a lot more instrumental in the out come of the election & the fact that the governing party had its worse deafeat since its inception in 1834

But, which of the Greens or Reform will use their presence in Parliament to deliver real constructive change?

They're both completely irrelevant. They'll make a bit of noise at PMQs but in reality they'll be the political equivalent of a yappy little dog.

But, they will get seats on the various select committees of the House of Commons and will be able to provide detailed scrutiny of Government policy. Further, they will get more short money to resource their own policy research. Moreover, they can put forward amendments to pieces of legislation.

They'll be wasting their time trying to get amendments through against that sort of majority.

True. However, in doing so they can highlight the issues they are anxious about.

I bet Farage will try anf get on as many Committes as possible as I bet he will maka a nuisance of himself as much as possible. I have a feeling that the first by election that pops up during this Parliament, that will be the first chance for Boris to return to the Commons.

I never bothered to look but did the Speaker retain his seat?

RE: General Election 2024 - munch1917 - 06-07-2024 09:29

The house of commons is a far from dignified place at the best of times, but Farage is a full-on narcissist, he's all 'look at me' and desperate to get the attention on himself. We saw that in his performances in the euro parliament. I predict he'll get himself a ban from the commons in next to no time by exhibiting similar loutish behaviour and refusing to follow protocol. That will present yet more media attention and soundbite opportunities to promote himself.

Oh Clacton, what have you unleashed!

Farage will hate he now has to declare all of his money

Farage wont want to do select commitee as it means he has to do work. i mean when he was in brussels had a job in fishing and was never there that wont slide here
