I suppose the other worrying thing is the depth of the City squad. The big problem will be that you can't afford to come back from that competition with several big players missing through injury, City do seem to have pretty much most positions covered for injuries and can bring in players to cover. I feel the other key is the CL it would be good to get the group stages done as early as possible qualifying for knockout stages before City do. I think the quicker that is sorted the better position you will be in. This is the period that does pretty much defines a season for some, but I do feel that World Club Cup is the one thing that is the potential spanner in the works in terms of Liverpool winning the title. The other thing is that having seen the Leicester goal, it did highlight that there are small niggles at the back that need to be secured.

Next 4 games are Man U, Spurs, Villa and then they play City. Have to be ruthless in those 4 games and go all out for maximum points to put a marker down, if Liverpool are serious and want to be champions then that's what they need to do. City could easily win 15 or 16 games on the spin no bother and then the points advantage evaporates.

I would say you're playing both Spurs and Man Utd at the right time both squads are in turmoil and possibly both likely will be looking to change managers after heavy defeats by Liverpool. Villa probably might the only side that will give you a game, but I would say If City were to have a another defeat in their next four games or are still winless (which is highly unlikely), they probably would be more worried about that game with you. I know Spurs' problem probably were exacerbated by that Bayern defeat, but it will be interesting to see how much of knock on effect on their CL form that Wolves defeat will have.

Hillsborough police chief David Duckenfield cleared of manslaughter.

You have to wonder when the 96 and their families will be able to reach closure-SOMEONE or SOME PEOPLE must be responsible and held to account or they will never feel that justice has been done. On another tack what on earth were Liverpool doing Wednesday night? It sounded as though they were sluggish, and couldn't break through the Napoli lines of four. I sincerely hope normal service is resumed on Saturday against Brighton and then a mad December fixture list including the Club World Cup and Carabao Cup match against Aston Villa.

I reckon there is Govt documentation stashed away secretly somewhere that damns Duckenfield to rights on that day that has never been seen or has never seen the light of day. Someone who was in that Thatcher administration knows more than we know and probably won't open that can to reveal the whole truth For me to get just you have to go right to heart of the government of the day, to find it At least with Andy Burnham as mayor of Liverpool, he will continue the push for justice.

RE: Liverpool FC - GMach1 - 29-11-2019 22:20

Erm I think you will find that Andy is the Mayor of Manchester babelover48 laugh

I hear that we've lost Fabinho until the New Year. This was always going to be a problem for Liverpool when on this tremendous unbeaten run-the loss of key players to injury. Perhaps Keita will return but if we lose any of our front three(Mané, Firmino or Salah(as we nearly did) then it will be very hard to win matches at the effort it has been so far. I also think the idea of loaning out Rhian Brewster is silly because he needs first team experience and having seen how many young players are being blooded by the likes of Lampard(Chelsea) and Solksjaer(Man Utd) you would think Klopp would jump at the chance to give him a try out in the main team, even as sub.

Fab being out is a huge blow! Other players deffo have to step up, think Klopp will dip into the transfer market in Jan

RE: Liverpool FC - GMach1 - 30-11-2019 17:40

I despair sometimes following Liverpool. In today's game against Brighton was laboured in the second half after a major flurry which could have seen at least 5 goals. We just seem to switch off and then a really stupid handball by Allisson saw him sent off and not being ready for the free kick saw Brighton grab one back. Salah went off but nothing wrong with him thank goodness as well as Firmino so the shape slightly changed but Liverpool have GOT to stop this inconsistency of taking the lead and then sitting back or in some cases going to sleep and allowing the other teams to get at them. We need to be more ruthless because I feel that is the only way ANY team is going to win the title. On the plus side Man City slipped up again so a little silver lining. Smile

Defence is all over the place this season, is it possible to have a elaxed last 20 mins at some stage this season?!
