World Grand Prix notable for shock exits so far: Ronnie, Selby, Robertson...

RE: Snooker - Snooks - 12-03-2016 20:33

Semi finals today.

Earlier Stuart Bingham came from 3-0, 4-3 and 5-4 down against Joe Perry to win 6-5.

Second semi in progress where Ding Junhui leads Shaun Murphy 1-0.

Edit: Murphy came back to win 6-3.

Final is a repeat of last years World Final.

Stuart Bingham v Shaun Murphy

Hope Bingham makes the so-called Magician disappear. Ideally by sawing him in half Sad

Mind, I was hoping for a Perry-Ding final, so I guess my disappointment could well be completed if Murphy's Law rules again.

RE: Snooker - Snooks - 13-03-2016 23:36

Shaun Murphy has won the World Grand Prix after a 10-9 win over Stuart Bingham.
Murphy led 4-1 before Bingham surged back to lead 5-4 at the interval. From there it was nip and tuck all the way.
6-6, 7-7, 8-8 and eventually 9-9.
Murphy it was though who held his nerve to close out victory in a match that was short on quality but plentiful in drama.

Double excellent! Tongue Can't be bothered with Bore-y Hawkins either.

RE: Snooker - Snooks - 27-03-2016 23:02

Mark Allen has beaten Ricky Walden 10-6 to win the Players Championship title and the £100,000 first prize.
After trailing 3-1 Allen won 6 frames in a row to lead 7-3.
Walden came back to 7-6 before Allen won the last three frames to seal victory.

Strange see-saw match. Pleased for Allen, was rooting for Walden though. Hard to be churlish given how clearly emotional Allen was in victory.
