RE: Dr Who - Rammyrascal - 20-05-2013 13:12 nope, not this time. im 9 years old in the clip update bbc have now confirmed series 8 of doctor who http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho/articles/Doctor-Who-A-New-Series-and-More RE: Dr Who - bigguy01 - 23-05-2013 14:17 the prodution values of the early dr who (1963) are pretty good, very few outdoor location shoots and the rest in the studio. the same sort of feel in series one of torchwood. I think it would be pretty good if the doctor had the occasional run in with an old companion. RE: Dr Who - bigguy01 - 24-05-2013 17:09 would like to see the sonic screwdriver disappear for a few eps for a change and let the dr or companion use their intelligence like in the original series. RE: Dr Who - Doddle - 24-05-2013 20:37 Yeah, but that doesn't sell toys. RE: Dr Who - bigguy01 - 28-05-2013 12:33 some of the missing episodes are being released on dvd has animations with orginal audio recordings. some are reconstructions with stills from the eps and audio recordings. RE: Dr Who - bytor - 30-05-2013 17:06 I have heard that the 50th anniversary will have John Hurt as an evil version of the Doctor. He is allegedly the rejuvenated Doctor after Tennant and before Smith. He is a version of the Doctor but not the Doctor. Think that sounds suitably confusing. This Doctor is supposedly responsible for the Time War. If memory serves me right it was mentioned in the Eccleston era that the Doctor started the time war. This Doctor is supposedly responsible for the Time War. If memory serves me right it was mentioned in the Eccleston era that the Doctor started the time war. also ended it with the destruction of both time lords and daleks. the time war took place between the 1996 tv movie with paul mcgann and eccleston's dr (2005). RE: Dr Who - Doddle - 31-05-2013 15:27 No-one knows for sure. One theory going round is that he's filling the part Eccles would have taken if he could have been bothered. Another theory is that the special will completely gloss over any angst suggested by the episode we just saw. In fairness to Eccleston, Paul McGann wasn't much happier about the PR aspects to the role either, which hasn't helped his cause. RE: Dr Who - Regenerated - 31-05-2013 16:29 There's an awful lot of events associated with the Time War, most of which haven't been revealed yet. The show has skated around it and shown bits of it since Doctor Who was restarted in 2005, but the exact roles in that war of Eccleston's Ninth Doctor, McGann's Eighth Doctor and Tennant's Tenth Doctor are yet to be revealed. The regeneration from 8 to 9 for example - that is implied to be a result of the war - the details of that have never been shown. The time war seemed to be one of the main themes of Eccleston's entire run; Tennant's last episode, The End Of Time, revisited it and brought us more details about the people involved and McGann's appearances in the other media (books, audio dramas) have briefly touched on it, but as yet we've not had a major showing in any media of the Time War. Perhaps more of it will be revealed in the 50th anniversary special. I'm looking forward to it. I've always thought John Hurt could have been a wonderful evil Doctor or an evil timelord. On the other side I'm disappointed that Eccleston isn't making an appearance. For me, 9, 10 and 11 together against Hurt's evil doctor would have been a really good story. But pleased at least that Tennant has agreed to come back. |
