RE: Chelsea FC - Charlemagne - 03-05-2015 20:22 Well done Chelsea. And with three matches left to play RE: Chelsea FC - Scottishbloke - 04-05-2015 17:01 I'll take nothing away from Chelsea but only 2 Englishmen in their starting 11. I'd love to see a return to the days when teams were able to win the league with home bred players. When Dundee United won the Scottish Premier League in 1983 we did it with 14 Scotsmen. Its sad now that money and foreign imports is what wins leagues and trophy's. Whatever happened to grass roots No disrespect to Chelsea but along with most of the other teams challenging for honours they have virtually no identity about them anymore. RE: Chelsea FC - Joey 27 - 04-05-2015 22:39 i suppose we have become so used to foreigners coming to the prem we don't even mention it much anymore, it is part of the game as they say, even if you look at barcalona and real madrid usual starting 11 they only have about 4 or 5 Spanish players in the team, the top Italian goalscorer in italy is 38 years old, the top spanish goalscorer in spain plays for a midtable team, so its not just the prem that suffers with a lack of home grown talent RE: Chelsea FC - Charlemagne - 10-05-2015 14:47 19 year old Ruben Loftus-Cheek will start for the first time in the Premier League against Liverpool today. RE: Chelsea FC - Scottishbloke - 10-05-2015 15:14 Nice to see Chelsea giving a local lad a run in the team RE: Chelsea FC - Joey 27 - 10-05-2015 19:07 he won't be in it at the start of next season though RE: Chelsea FC - chelsealion - 10-05-2015 21:57 Yes he's a genuinely local lad, in that he was only born a few miles away from Stamford Bridge. And although he's only 19, this is his 11th season as a Chelsea player. RE: Chelsea FC - cosmonaut - 12-05-2015 12:16 Eden Hazard has been named the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year with Harry Kane in second place and John Terry third. Hazard had an 'overall majority' with 53% of the votes. Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas, Branislav Ivanovic and Thibaut Courtois also made the top 10. RE: Chelsea FC - admin. - 17-05-2015 09:53 Congratulations to Eden Hazard on being named the Football Writers’ Player of the Year, adding it to his PFA Players’ Player of the Year award. Hazard joins former Chelsea winners Gianfranco Zola (1997) and Frank Lampard (2005). Apart from the 5 Chelsea players who received votes and runner-up Harry Kane, there were 4 other players who got votes from the football writers this year, Alexis Sanchez, David de Gea, Sergio Aguero and Esteban Cambiasso. RE: Chelsea FC - lovebabes56 - 18-05-2015 19:38 WTF was Fabregas doing? there was no need to get involved... |
