The State aid one I think seems easy its just about agreeing to a set of rules when the state bails or invests in a company which don't distort competition or provide an unfair advantage.

Fuck knows how you solve the fishing problem. Maybe a 5 year licence which is revoked if quotas are breached so you can pass off having control of waters while giving the EU what they want. Btw I assume fishing access allows us to fish in theirs as well.

I am so over this since this catastrophic decision.

Are they willing to risk a no deal for the sake of 0.05% of GDP which the fishing industry is and how much of the 0.05 % is from catches being sold in europe anyway

this is prob all fucking gove anyway he keeps blaming Europe for his dads fishing business going bust but suspect his father was as much as a cunt as he is and fucked it up himself Tongue Tongue Tongue

They've also given up on getting Financial Services included in the deal which is why more UK based banks have established EU based subsidiaries. The tax loss to the UK will be multiple times what fishing brings in at a time when we need it. I doubt we even have the ability to catch all the fish if we refuse to make a deal on fishing rights.

The governments made a separate deal with Norway in case there isn't a deal in place with the EU by the end of the year.

The EU hope to complete a deal with the UK by mid November.
They are going to make it look like Boris Johnson has won the negotiations so that he can sell the deal to his Tory hardliners.

What chance does he stand of winning them over before even winning the public over? and aren't we supposedly having the final say?

How does lockdown affect the talks?

RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit (formerly Europe..IN or OUT??) - Charlemagne - 16-11-2020 19:15

Brexit talks continue this week. It's now or never.

So Boris has a decision, does he back down on the fishing negotitaions and allow the EU to fish in our waters which would upset the fishing communities and his back bench MP's.
Or does he say no to the fishing as just have a No Deal Brexit.

Cummins has gone so he has to make his own mind up. I suspect that they'll agree a fishing quarta then both Boris and Macron can say they won.

They've denied it, but you never know.

I bet that will leave a huge dent on the local economy. I seem to recall that Nissan said they would pull out of UK if we voted for BREXIT which sees a long time ago now
