RE: News on new channels - Freeview & Sky - andyjb - 29-06-2012 01:16 Not a good move for some of the channels, which in my area currently give good reception when the weather turns rough. Now on frequencies that drop out in the same conditions. RE: News on new channels - Freeview & Sky - Digital Dave - 29-06-2012 05:43 Those channels numbers are purely list numbers for the epg, rather than frequencies, therefore I don't think anything will change regarding reception. RE: News on new channels - Freeview & Sky - andyjb - 29-06-2012 11:23 Regarding the channel positioning, I was trying to watch a film on the Horror channels last week when the weather was really bad. Missed the start on their normal channel which had a good reception, but was impossible to watch the sister channel right next to it. How is this so? How is this so?If its like my satellite system, its because its on a different transponder setting,E.G horror-11261H27498 2/3 horror ch+1-11222h27500 2/3.So one must have a stronger signal than the other. LNB's don't last for ever, can slowly go downhill, weather & the elements affecting dish wiring & causing it to decay! Heavy/high winds causing dishes to move out of line, even the smallest move can cause problem. Trees overgrowing etc!!! Ok I've probably mentioned stuff that isn't a problem with your dish, and I would first suspect the LNB. But if you are having consistent reception problems it might be a good idea to get your dish checked out |
