RE: Liverpool FC - alexxxi - 31-01-2011 21:26 I just hope liverpool have thrown in a clause that doesnt allow torres to play this sunday . just hope carroll gets fit soon so we can start dominating! RE: Liverpool FC - moeyahoo - 31-01-2011 21:29 Torres is off for £48 to £50 Million. Suarez has signed and has the famous Number 7. Not sure about Charlie Adams as of yet don't think we are getting Ashley Young looks like you're owed a slap but Its gonna have to be a digital one lol. As for Carroll signing, The price is way to steep and I think its a desperate bid to sign him on the other hand he is a very good player and can easily adapt to the team and link with Suarez RE: Liverpool FC - mitchell - 31-01-2011 21:32 (31-01-2011 00:37 )mitchell Wrote: Also wouldn't mind seeing Andy Carroll come in but not for £25m. ..... As I'd much rather we payed £35m instead.................................... Errrr........... Luis Suárez has just turned 24 & on a five & a half year deal the sell on fee would be big should he give it the typical "Oh my dream is to play for Real Madrid". in 2 years time. £35m for Andy Carroll who has just turned 22 but even if he signs a 5-6 year deal with his style of play the only clubs that would be intrested in him would be Premier League teams & I think the only destination would be UTD so lets hope he turns out to be a great buy!!! We will now need to change our style of play with the addition Carroll but we only have Maxi who can play on the wing. Although I can still see Ashley Young coming in the summer as the Carroll money has come from the Torres sale & some of the remaining £15m may be spent on Charlie Adam so the original money made available for Adam will now be spent on Young & I think we may make it a double swoop for Stewart Downing & this would give us the squad which would give us the realistic chance of uttering thoses words again..... I think this is gon...... £35Million pounds RE: Liverpool FC - mitchell - 31-01-2011 21:42 Yeah agreed alexxxi letting Torres play on Sunday would be just silly!!! As for all the people saying he's injury prone you have to remember since he came to us I don't think he's had a summer's rest with all the international tournaments he's had to play & he went to the world cup injured & got injured there again then you have to add Roy Hodgson's shit tactics & then & only then will you understand that Chelsea are signing Fernando Torres right at the time when he's about to hit his peak years of 27-33 but this doesn't make him any less of a T*W*A*T for what he's done!!! Dominating? ha yeah right you lot ain't done that in 20 years and won't do that again any time soon lol RE: Liverpool FC - 2Bud - 31-01-2011 23:30 Suarez and Carroll two very good signings, looking forward to seeing them play together As for Torres, if he wants to play at the weekend then let him play. And hopefully show him that he has made a mistake when we go and beat Chelsea RE: Liverpool FC - thinwhiteduke - 01-02-2011 00:05 Can anyone tell me what the difference is between what Torres has done and what Carroll has done ? Both players are being branded as traitors by their respective ex-fans. Perhaps Carroll's boyhood team were Liverpool.. RE: Liverpool FC - n01scruff - 01-02-2011 00:14 While I can't forgive Fernando for how he left us, I can forgive him for why he left. He was clearly a hugely ambitious person and, in my opinion, the club did not meet his ambitions in the last season and a half. Messrs Hicks and Gillett can have another strike on their record but I don't think it matters at this stage. We never pushed on from 2nd, only replacing a key player with one who, unfortunately, did not work out. While Torres has won the Euros and the WC it obviously wasn't enough for him, he strove to win everything. When Hodgson failed to meet this ambition on the pitch we began to see 'El Sulk' and his thoughts drifted elsewhere. The way he angled for a transfer, to Chelsea of all places, was deplorable. I think people with his ambition to reach the top have an inherent selfishness which comes at the cost of others. For a lad of 27, the rebuilding needed at Liverpool was too much and Chelsea are in better position to offer him what he wants. I'm devastated he didn't give NESV and Kenny until the end of the season but we got a good deal really. £50m for a player with numerous muscle injuries, I believe to be just past his peak, is good business. While the £35M for Carroll leaves me uneasy I'll give him time. I'm still sad Fernando didn't get a farewell but in the circumstances it wouldn't be realistic. I think he did, and does, have a place for Liverpool in his heart. I mean any player who has a personalised armband bearing 'YNWA' must. I'm sure he'd rather lift trophies at Anfield then at Stamford Bridge but alas, that's modern football. I for one will always be thankful for the good times. RE: Liverpool FC - Master Yoda - 01-02-2011 00:16 We always knew he was a red Carroll, Carroll. He has a dirty greasy head Carroll, Carroll. He punches birds, he burns his house, But we dont care, that makes him scouse. Andy Carroll, Liverpool's number 9!!!!!!!! RE: Liverpool FC - mitchell - 01-02-2011 00:36 Get that on all the LFC msg boards Yoda & see if it gets blasted out at the Stoke game, quality!!! |
