It's a good pitch but it is slightly slow.
The England players struggled with their timing and there were lots of false shots. So the Aussy big hits may have their problems to.
And George Bailey looks like he's got a back injury.

Australia 244-9 after 44 overs - 57 required from 6 overs at 9.5 runs/over.

Faulkner is still at the crease & a big hitter, the first 2 balls on the next over bowled by Stokes go for sixes !

Don't lose this now.

I think its time for Cook to go as ODI captain. I think I like the look of Eoin Morgan in that role. He has the experience now.

This tour of Australia goes from bad to worse
I almost get the feeling even if we bowled Australia out for 1, we would then get bowled out for 0 and lose by 1 run Rolleyesbladewave.

We have to hope Morgan's injury doesn't keep him out of the next match or the series will be over.Broad will strenghten this side, but picking the wrong team & the wrong tactics lost this game.
I don't like the idea of trying to score the bulk of your runs in the last 10 overs, one or 2 key dismissals & you end up 30 plus runs short.
I saw Faulkner win a game for them in India where he scored a hundred.England have a massive backroom staff that should've prepared them for this.He hits leg-side,make him hit off-side.

The last wicket pair had 65 to get.
Even I thought that this present team couldn't lose from here..
I was wrong.

Cooke has to go. He should have bowled Bopara earlier. Did Cooke not see his bowling figures in the friendly match.

This just beggars belief. I thought the Radio 5 presenter was being seriously pessimistic when she said "let's not celebrate just yet" at the 1 wicket and 44 runs required stage. Then I had my breakfast and came back to read this....?
