This years tour has begun.
Stage 1 is from Brest to Landerneau in Brittany.

The Tour de France organisers have statted that they will sue the girl who caused the first mass crash of the peloton by holding a sign up in front of a rider and causing him to crash into the most of the peloton.

However on seeing what she did she did a runner.

Surprising that only 3 riders failed to finish stage 1 with the number of riders crashing. A forth, Marc Soler managed to finish the stage with breaks in both his forearms & has abandoned before todays start.

Hi

Todays stage won by Mathieu vander Poel

Pure pedigree, his brother is a cyclocross rider, his father is a cyclocross rider winner 6 times championship of the Netherlands and 2 stages TdF

His grandfather is none other than Raymond Pouidor . winner of the Tour of Spain and runner up TdF 3 times and 3rd 5 times, plus stages wins and also classics

Raymond was also one of the most approachable of the retired rider and a very popular person on the tour caravan, sadly died in 2019 at age 83. He was also a proficient rose gardener and poker player.

Great to see a family tradition continue
