Like the Marie Celeste this could be a mystery that is never solved.

Good point Tractor boy, I can't help wondering if what we're seeing here is a deliberate mystery. I mean did someone purposely create another Celeste type conundrum or want to become part of a legendary disappearance story like Amelia Earhart. This explanation of what happened to MH370 may strike people as lame, but so far there is no normal or typical explanation that is convincing.

No the game's up. The searchers are being cautious in what they say, but I reckon the plane has more or less been found. They picked up 4 very clear signals on the right frequency and that means the black boxes are there because the noises can't be from anything else. It's just a matter of time now until the exact position of the wreck is located.

That sounds over optimistic to me. News reports are saying there's a huge amount of silt on the ocean bed and the plane could sink into it completely. If so the plane could yet prove impossible or almost impossible to find.

If it did ditch in the ocean then is it fair to say that the speed it hit the ocean and angle it entered the water that : -
A) The plane would have broken up on impact, and also

B) The black boxes would have been thrown clear of the wreckage and be lying some distance away?

Nobody knows what speed or angle it was doing until the black boxes are found.

yes but it is true to say that the plane would have broken up on impact?

The plane that landed on the Hudson River a while back, landed on water without breaking up so it is not a given. It depends on whether the pilots were at the controls or unconscious. And we have absolutely no way of knowing that yet.

The use of the drone submarine started on Tuesday, so today is the third day of its sonar search.
