RE: Female Callers - Josh187 - 13-03-2010 11:46

My whole take on this subject is, it doesn't bother me as im not a paying customer and have never called the shows, and my position is simply as the casual viewer, this thing shouldn't bother me, right?

Although i don't have any real opinion on the matter, i will say the obvious it's good business sense from Cellcast. They realise far more people will listen in when two girls are on the phone as opposed to a guy and a girl, because most men will get turned on by two girls getting it on. However i do question how people can be so Gullable on this whole matter, hardly any 'geniune' girls call the channels, yet it claims 'a hot girl caller' is calling all the time... that doesn't arouse any suspicion?

This is nothing new, i remember a while back when Babestation used to do live calls between two BS babes, nothing has changed except they do it secretly now and more frequent. They use the 'mystery' of the 'hot girl caller' to make gullable people listen in and they use this ploy so much because far more people will listen in to girls than general regular callers.

Finally i don't really care for this, but i do feel for the people who do call in because they have to wait in line for ages just until these 'girl callers' finish, and they usually take an awful long time on the phone, so it sucks for the geniune regular callers.

to tell the truth as a caller if i hear its a girl caller then i will just hang up cos i know they will be a long time then wait till next time shes waggling her phone then call again. i will almost never ring during freeview time thats when they seem to get girl callers. in fact was joking to someonewho works there isnt it amazing how many girl callers always seem to get through at 12pm when freeview starts laughlaughlaugh

If you don't get through straight away hang up and try again later. Jeez anyone waiting for 'their' turn must be a mug as you do not know how many other callers are ahead of you in the queue anyway. It certainly is getting annoying the number of times a hot girl caller/couple is on but I guess it is a marketing strategy that must be paying dividends or they would simply drop it. Anyway only affects those of us who actually make calls-should not be an issue for those who don't.

yes but you already £3 out of pocket as you wait to hear the crappy "help" advice/warning. Huh

Just run through my recording of last nights freeview channel 96/babestation recording. The 'hot girl caller' box or variations on it 'hot student girl', 'two hot girls' was on screen for around 160 mins in total - approximately 40% of the air time 10pm - 5am. Even two people listening for those 160 minutes equals around £500 so commercially it will make sense but as a proper caller it means that you have no chance of getting through for half the show. Lori, Camilla, daryl and georgie, stevie and jada all had 'calls' which lasted 28/30 minutes.

Actually the example you give WOULDN'T make commercial sense.

Two people listening at a time would not be enough for Babestation to make a profit. In fact the channel would disappear fast as a loss making entity.

Since it was an example of how quickly the money racks up then yes it would make commercial sense. It wasn't a suggestion that it only took two people to keep babestation going. Keep multiplying and you'll see how much it costs to those stupid enough to hang on. It would be far cheaper to get a couple of hardcore dvd's and if you're doing it night after night it would be cheaper to pay for an escort. Although judging by the fact that after one long 'girl caller' call last night georgie was waving her phone about to indicate she had no callers then maybe there aren't as many as we think.

If it's stupid to hang on, how do you suggest listening to the calls? I don't see how you can listen if you don't hang on.

RE: Female Callers - Deadman 30 - 24-03-2010 00:11

I'm not a regular caller to the shows at the moment, because of certain financial constraints. However even if I was a regular caller, the girl-girl thing wouldn't bother me one way or the other, as I've said before its all good business from their point of view.

We all know its one of the other presenters calling from backstage, and as people mostly will know what to expect, and know what they're paying for, its no fault of the television channel.

Its entirely people's choice if they phone up and spend their money listening in and having a play with themselves, its no con, they're not fooling anybody, if you don't want to spend money, simply don't phone.

Its simple really. Rolleyes

'Hanging on' implies that you are expecting to talk to someone which given the length of time these 'hot girl callers' are taking is an expensive wait. Listening in is a different matter. You wouldn't say they've left me listening in if you rang, for example, a bank you'd say they've left me 'hanging on' because you're expecting to talk to someone. If you're listening in then you're getting what you pay for which is still expensive but up to you. The waiting to talk option and just listening in option are different. If you've rung up to talk to the girl you don't necessarily want to listen in just as listeners don't want to do any talking. If you're waiting to talk to the girl it's a long wait and as someone else has said hang up and ring back - if calls are lasting about 28/30 minutes then that's the time to ring and then it should be more or less straight through. As i said before the other day georgie was waving her phone around as if she had no callers for at least a minute and a half after a girl 'caller' so maybe people have wised up and know there's no point waiting to talk to the girl until that call is over.
