RE: 360 or PS3 - mozza - 01-02-2009 20:13 yea it'll be another modern one, infinity ward are doing it again, should be good, yea those yanks get annoying don't they, telling people how to play the game and moaning cuz no one skips when they want em to i'm on nights this week so wont get to go on it much myself RE: 360 or PS3 - Shandy - 01-02-2009 20:16 i like the modern one, i am better with the weapons!! lol. hopefully we get tanks and that in it too!! yea, i don't get why people tell others to skip. if anyone wants to they will, plus its pointless cos you only end up with a worse map!!! lol.i like most maps actually. Its when you get the kids calling you gay or ugly or whatever cos they think its hard. thats just annoying. Thank god for mute!!! lol. RE: 360 or PS3 - HEX!T - 01-02-2009 20:16 personaly i wouldnt considder eather machines, they are both seriously flawed. ps3 lacks decent games all there top titles are still missing from the linup, likes of gt5, killzone (although its out soon). 360 has some great exclusive titles but they are fast becoming timed exclusives, and the console reliability is a serious factor even 3 years on. if you already have a half decent pc then i would considder upgrading that. as that is true next gen gaming especialy with dx10 support and superior tru 1080p resilutuons. as a lot of games are multi platform the best choice is pc, fallout 3 runs fine on console but at around 600p struggling to keep 30fps while even on a medium spec pc it runs at full 1080p 60fps and the textures are so much richer. so unless you realy want bluray or to play gears then pc is the machine to have. RE: 360 or PS3 - mas0887 - 01-02-2009 20:17 Yeah I would recommend buying the 360 now for the simple reason that the demo for Resi 5 is up and available on live NOW, freaking superb, co-op Resi is fucking brilliant, fuck all you PS3 fanboys now, at least till you guys get it in a month or so lol. Words do not describe how fun that demo is, the first part of it is like the most intense bit of Resi 4 turned up to 11, with barely any ammo. RE: 360 or PS3 - mozza - 01-02-2009 20:21 makes me laugh when some kid is mouthing off to everyone and then every now and then you'll hear his mom shout him for his tea or something yea i think i prefer the modern 1 aswell, but cod 6 requires more skill i think tho. RE: 360 or PS3 - Shandy - 01-02-2009 20:33 i wouldn't go near a ps3, the pricing of it is stupid and they don't have as many decent games (IMHO) right now compared to the same time frame the 360 came out. From what i hear, MS aren't intending a new xbox for a coupla more years either. COD 5 does need more skill and i think i like it more, i am just better at 4! lol. I have an ok PC, but i don't like playing games on it, am picky. I prefer consoles as they run games more reliable from my experience and the controllers are just right, i can't be bothered forking out for the bits to use the controllers on the pc and i've never found a good controller for the pc. The exclusives on the xbox, personally i feel, are better and don't get boring to me at all. I've had my xbox 2 years and it's not had a single problem. i think its all a matter of perception most the time, there's millions of people using xboxes and yea some have problems and they make the news. PC's are the same, you get faulty parts, it happens. Plus i don't think console reliability is actually that serious an issue now as it was mostly just those made in the first year, as the newer xboxes have better parts that resolve alot of those issues. for alot of people, upgrading their PC's will more than likely cost more than buying a console too. cos depending on what you have, you may need to buy a new mobo, CPU, memory and graphics card. Plus alot of games on the consoles are much better for online gaming on the xbox, more people, easier to connect. RE: 360 or PS3 - HEX!T - 02-02-2009 09:16 actualy shandy upgrading a pc to gaming standard would cost less than you think 70-90 quid for a 9800gt 50 for a 775 motherboard 40 for a 650w 32A psu 100 for a chaep dual core 20 quid for 2 gig of ram. slight oc on the dual core and that will murder any console for the same money. 300 quid tops and then you save on average 10 pound per game you buy. it even seems a bargain if you go the whole hog and buy a new rig gainst a hdtv and console. there is only 1 benafit of having a console and thats ease of use. as for the rrod (red ring of death) a site i use still reports 1 a week-ish and just as often its a new elite going down, i aint arguin her its just what i see week after week. its still so bad that ms are being oh so polite to customers with problems as trading standards are all over em atm like a bad rash. sumthing to do with being fit for the use it was purchase for. ur rite about the controlers but you can use the 360 controler on a pc all games for windows use them, for them games there great but they do have issues with other games. mouse and keyboard i have come to find is better for pc gaming though as its just easyer and way more acurate. especialy sumthing like the logitech g5 gaming mouse. RE: 360 or PS3 - Shandy - 02-02-2009 10:07 £300 for the PC, but you can get an xbox for £120. Nice math work! or £180 for an xbox elite with HDMI cable. If you buy the games online, they work out just the same price. 1 a week compared to millions of users around the world isn't bad, plus there's probably the equivalent to the amount of PC's that die and need repairing, there's just no site that reports that. The RROD stats were much much worse orignally and MS extended warranty cos of it. As i said, controllers for the PC are a nightmare, and i'd only use mouse and keyboard for COD, for GTA, Personally i have to have a controller, it just doesn't play right. Infact i find using a controller for COD much more accurate than a keyboard and mouse, i've tried this on COD5 on both and thats what i felt. Plus apart from COD, i mostly play guitar hero, which isn't on the PC. I know there's that home made game. RE: 360 or PS3 - jordo - 02-02-2009 10:57 To Hexit and shandyman Are you two a married couple by any chance? You seem to be constantly bitching at each other RE: 360 or PS3 - HEX!T - 02-02-2009 11:17 jordo Wrote:To Hexit and shandymanlol no he just l;ikes to try and pick my posts apart. 300 pounds is a reasonable number and the maximum if he already has a decent dual or quad then that price will be less than half so when a ps3 costs 299+ or 189 for xbox 360 elite for cod4 cost me 22 quid new for pc, cheapest i saw it for xbox is 34 quid same for ps3, upgrading the pc is quite an attractive option 1 a week from about 75 regular xbox users of the site not world wide m8 if i went world wide your still looking at 12000+ a month being returned. like i said if you just want to play games then fine buy a console. but if you want reliablity, better gfx, higher specs, tru 1080p rez, larger comunity, user generated content, free online then look to upgrade yer pc. |
