Shawcross kick Messi up in the air in the first five minutes never to return to to pitch again. Shawcross sent off. Meh it's a price worth paying. Wink

You're not far off the mark Captain, that's why I thought Man U had a chance.
Who apart from Arsenal would try to out football Barca ?

Pah not a patch on the Brazilian team of 1970.

Yellow shirts under a Mexican sun, that was a team.

Of course it's all relative, this Barca team to kids of 8 and 9 will always be the greatest team and rightly so they are beautiful but still not a patch on a team that contained Pele, Jarzhino, Gerson, Tostao and Rivelino.

God I'm old. Wink

No game between Barcelona and Real Madrid is meaningless. Even I know that and I'm not much of a football follower. Besides I seem to remember there were a lot of cards shown by the referee during that game, so the players couldn't have regarded it as meaningless. But returning to the main subject, surely against Barcelona you must try and stop them playing and stop them sweeping you away with their passing, and if so surely a central midfield of Carrick and Giggs is not what you'd want?

The referee showed 8 yellow cards and 1 red card in this 'meaningless' match. Real Madrid celebrated their 'meaningless' victory with a tour through Madrid on a double decker bus to show off the trophy.
