I still can't me head around the fact that FIFA put England at 4th best in the World and Brazil outside the top 10. and I agree, with our ranking we should have had no problem against Montenegro, but
after that game I wouldn't be surprise if we drop a few places towards being out of the top 10 sides after that game and Montenegro come up a few. I don't remember where they are but I think they must be closing on the top 20 teams and if I'm correct, that alone is some rise in football terms since their first international in 2007.

If England don't qualify for the World Cup it will because they haven't won their home games. A draw in Montenegro is not great, but it's OK.

No, sorry STOTO, but taking in to consideration England's dominance in the first half, then the collapse in the second half, it is not ok. I don't see it as an ok result - we should have been out of sight at half time. The second half collapse was pathetic and I think very damaging. I can see tough times ahead, especially away to Ukraine and against Poland - we've still not beaten anybody good.

For those interested, here's the link to the full list of current world FIFA rankings. Some surprises in that from the last time I looked at it. Some crazy rankings in fact:-

Looks like Roy Hogeson is getting his excuses ready for Tuesday, in interview after Moldova game he make it sound is like he and England are afraid of Ukraine...

I feel for you Wink

You should always be wary of your opposition and pay them a healthy respect. Over-confidence has a way of biting you in the backside when you least expect it. You should know that by now after England's recent sound beating of your mighty and imperious Brazil Wink

With Welbeck out with what I would consider to be a very controversial yellow card I reckon there will have to be forced changes. We did a good job last night but I feel the game on Tuesday night is the one that really matters and could still be a potential banana skin.

I know should always show respect to opponent but what he was say yesterday make it sound as if Ukraine are a top 5 team or something like this and sound like he was doubting his own team.

He should be making his player feel confident, but I think maybe say things like he did yesterday can put doubt in players mind...

I think he was wasn't doubting his own team, he was being cautious
and like I said I think we haver to be careful on Tuesday so that the game doesn't become a banana on current FIFA ranking, we are 14 places ahead of Ukraine so it should either be a close tight game, or a good thumping. I think Ukraine will offer England a good test after Moldova but we have to also ensure we don't pile up yellow cards in this one. Any ideas what your ideal team and formation would be guys? Who will partner Lambert if Sturridge doesn't play?

RE: Football Banter - Fernandez Esperenda - 08-09-2013 14:49

why not play walcott and lambert up front?

RE: Football Banter - shano123 - 08-09-2013 16:00

Dunno if hooper is injured but he should be given a chance for England, if boothroyd, frazer Campbell and lambert can get chances then why can't hooper
