Don't get me wrong .I'm not saying Durham will not be deserved winners if they go on to win .There's only them and Yorkshire who do though .They're the only teams who have consistently played positive cricket this season in the championship .
My remarks on the Sussex "performance" are based on frustration and are a little bit sarcastic .Sorry its a trait in us yorkshire folk . (i.e. "the world's against us !")
Sad

No - I did realise that Mick. I meant other teams lower than Sussex that probably deserve the SSOS title. I agree either Durham or Yorks would be deserved winners of Div 1.

If Durham do or don't win the title. it will be a remarkable season from the players. After disharmony in the dressing room from some under performing overpaid senior players they have recovered well under the leadership of Paul Collingwood, who has rebuilt the team spirit. They've had a points deduction, unable to afford to sign an overseas player or strengthen the squad from outside. They consistently play with a team with 9/10 players who originate from their academy or the local leagues. At the start of the season most cricket writers and experts had Durham being relegated and big spending Surrey the champions. Just look at the table now. Lessons to be learnt I think. The work Geoff Cook and his staff have done behind the scenes cannot be praised enough.

Hoping Somerset can avoid relegation, disappointed they lost by 2 wickets to Derbyshire today

That turned out to be a fascinating match which swung one way then the other.
So hard the understand that arguably one of the strongest batting line-ups around on one of the best batting tracks has consistently failed.

Really thought they had a chance of getting the win against Derbyshire, seems they keep their best form for CB40 and T20 games

6. Notts p.13 pts 123
7.Derby p.14 pts 116
8.Soms. p.14 pts 115
9.Surrey p.13 pts 100
Bottom 2 are relegated .
So has it stands currently any 2 from 4 have chance of survival .
I wouldn't like to guess who though .

Makes Somerset's loss to Derbyshire seem all the more important, we could have put ourselves way out in front had we just managed to win that game

That's the good thing about 16points for a win .Get a big win with full bonus points (8+16=24) and your rivals lose and there's a massive change in the table .
