Cor blimey your boys better do a job on man utd tomorrow or I will hound you into remissionlaugh

The point is you are supposed to be opposite end of the pitch from each other for that reason. Belicheck had a stooge sitting behind the jets coaches for one purpose only and that was espionage. Fair dues in regard to Goodell. You are supposed to be innocent till proven guilty. He should have made sure he had 100% proof which he did not have. The problem is when you have previous people consider you guilty till proven innocent. I with a lot of people thought the whole incident looked dodgy but you can't start pressing charges till you have concrete evidence.

Moving on you must be very pleased with the performance against the steelers .

Is Rob Gronkowski the best tight end ever?

I can't make my mind up if the Steelers were a bit toothless last night or if the Pats just cruise on a level now where they just turn up and win. Gronk is a stand out player isn't he Charlemagne, got a feeling he'll be on plenty of highlight reels this season

Not yet but maybe one day , for me , at the moment the best ever is Tony Gonzalez . You can look even better if your not covered though , Steelers forgot to do that on his first TD Big Grin

To early in his career
By all accounts Kellan Winslow snr was a bit special. Vernon Davis is superb
Jason Witten is pretty special. Antonio Gates is pretty damn good as well.
Also different criteria. Some tight ends are more like receivers and others are more in the blocking mode. Gronkowski side step to get around the steelers defensive back was impressive.
Brady does have that ability to get it done. Last year people thought they were in trouble. They got an absolute pasting and were being written off. They than went rest of the season unbeaten. In terms of bounce-back ability the patriots are second to none. They got their head coach and quarterback to thank for that.

Absolutely agree. I'm no Pats fan but they just go out and get the job done, always said they remind me of a Fergie era Man United, lol

Very true Badabing but don't let Mr77 catch you comparing them to Man Utd.laugh
They also seem to the NFL's answer to money ball. They Don't splash out a fortune on flash superstars. If they get a big name in it is to get them over the top.
They got Moss one season and went 16-0. Belichick is very much old school. If a player from the ranks shows him something during the season and pre season he will promote him.
Wes Welker was a Miami reject and look at the success he had with him. He does not care about reputations if you show you can do a job for him he will give you a chance.

Yeah, they showed a graphic on Thursday nights game talking about how they'd cut 6 players in the offseason and something like 3 or 4 of them had played in the Superbowl. Its all about business with Belichick, no time to rest on your laurels with him.

"Oh, you helped us to another Lombardi trophy? Well sorry but we're building towards the next one already and you don't quite fit"

Just business as usual, on to the next one. It might wind some fans up and keep up this 'evil Empire' facade but I respect that.

RE: NFL 2015/2016 Season - setter1000 - 12-09-2015 10:33

Very true. 'it ain't nothing personal it's just the business'
He released Lawyer Milloy and Ty Law who had both played in the pro bowl and the super bowl under him. They are a well Oiled machine no doubting that. You could be a star running back for him one season than be decides that teams are Going to give you extra attention and neutralise you. He therefore plays a different style and decides you are more or less obsolete, releases you and gets a cheaper player in. He did that with Corey Dillon one season. Quite simply he is of the 'there is no room for sentiment in sport' ilk.

As a Liverpool fan it is painful at times to think I support the United of the NFL , oh well the Pats were just the team that seemed to grab my attention .
