They have to take account of the rain interruptions which are forecast.

Close of play Sri Lanka 32-0

Yes very true, rain is forecast - plus the series is already won by England, which would be a factor in the decision to declare.

^I can see the weather playing a part in declaring but don't think they'd risk losing this test even if the series is already won. A difference in ranking points for winning 2-0 as opposed to 2-1.

They already have risked it. 362 in 110 overs is a risk surely? That's the target if the rain stays away.

What about the difference in ranking points for winning 3-0 as opposed to 2-0?

Yes. What I mean is they must be expecting bad weather to give such a generous declaration. If they thought the weather was going to mean a full day's play then I think they would have stretched the lead over 400. I think they're expecting a decent amount of overs to be lost. I mean they'd rather win 2-0 than taking a gamble of possibly winning 3-0 but that meaning that they may also 'only' win 2-1.

Due to the pesistant rain the match ended up as a draw

Today is the first of 5 ODI matches against Sri Lanka.

England have won the toss and chosen to bowl.

In reply England started very badly, losing 6 wickets cheaply. The computer was only giving them a 2% chance of winning
After a big partnership between Buttler & Woakes England need 68 to win off 47 balls

Buttler has just been caught on the boundary for 93.
