It certainly rules the Republicans and without 60 votes in the Senate nothing will ever happen. I'm hoping it turns out the shooter in this case was a member of the NRA. As usual they have gone to ground and will wait for a while before making any public statements.

If he's a member then they can't defend gun laws with some ''if everyone was armed'' nonsense, they've claimed that more than once.
Their thinking is that if everyone was armed, there would be less gun violence, which is utter nonsense, it's not the fucking wild west anymore

The NRA have finally crawled out from under their rock...and called for a review of the laws around Bump Stocks!
How about we just gather 22000 NRA Members into a small area overlooked by a tall building and let rip with a few hundred rounds on them. They'll change their minds PDQ after that.
