This was also a big part of my childhood

My older brother has certain mental disabilities. For people in his condition, they tend to become very fixated on specific things. In his case, it was Power Rangers (he even likes all the new shit still). I was forced to watch more Power Rangers growing up than anyone should be subjected to. I think Power Rangers theme songs are some of the only songs I can remember all the lyrics to.

Must admit though, White Ranger got me pretty hyped as a kid. Can remember one Halloween at school, there was shitloads of kids dressed as the White Ranger Big Grin (and a couple green rangers). Always thought Zordon was a gigantic floating baby head.

And yes, Kimberly was very hot. I wonder if Bulk and Skull ever got to tag team her Tongue

Do you remember going to Saturday morning pictures? This terrific wheeze was allowing kids to get into local cinemas on a Saturday morning to watch a main feature but for about 50p-I am going back a fair way here around mid-late 70's

Envariably you got to sit anywhere in the Upper or Lower circle and unaccompanied by parents if you wanted to show how 'grown up' you were with your mates. I recall the music played whilst we waited was always 'The Shadows-'Wonderful Land' or 'Foot Tapper' for some reason-anyway we got a cartoon as an opener, a few trailers for upcoming films, followed by a short film on something interesting like watch-making or boat-building, then you got the main feature. I remember two, first was called SKY RAIDERS about a heist using those triangular gliders(you hang from a bar and steer with it) and I also remember seeing BATMAN (1966) the original film. I also remember me and my cousin with anoraks, buttoning up the top popper and using the hood as a cowl running back home as said Batman & Robin(well we were young back then and fitter!) Happy Days!

Never really got Power Rangers, I thought it looked cheap with the villain in a bad suit!

I think for the most part, you just had to be in the 5-12 year old age bracket at the time to really appreciate the masterpiece it was Tongue

If you've ever seen the spoof movie Not Another Teen Movie, there's a chick in that movie that's just naked the entire time every scene she's in. IIRC, she was a cast member on one of the later iterations on Power Rangers.

Another thing I remember Ranger-related was when I was 5 or 6, my uncle took me and my cousins to see some kind of Power Rangers live event. Can't remember exactly what it was, on ice or on stage or something. All I can remember is this fucking guy...

...gyrating up there the whole time. Like a male stripper. Shit gave me nightmares.

Remember when everyone wore parka coats where the hood had fake fur around the edge..which absolutely stunk when it got wet from rain. I, like most kids in my year at school had a blue one, but I do remember seeing one or two green ones.

Zipped all the way up, as I remember us all doing during the freezing cold winter of 1978/79, we all looked really strange with our heads resembling some kind of freaky submarine periscope/snorkel kind of shape Bounce

Another one from the winter of 1978/79 which would make health and safety types have a seizure..

In those days I lived in a village nearly 4 miles from school so getting the school bus to and from school was a necessity. On this particular day there was a lot of freezing fog around, which as it happened was even worse in my home village which is quite high up, being nearly 700 feet above sea level. There were between 100 and 110 of us from the Village, and on a normal day there’d be two double decker buses waiting to take us home.

On this day however...nothing was there..(pre mobile phone days)...so we stood there...stood there...eventually an hour and a half or so later, when it was almost completely dark, one double decker (which was meant to carry about 55 people) turned up and there we had the insane situation of between 100 and 110 of us piling on this thing...every inch of space upstairs and downstairs taken, all of us rammed like sardines in this bus and the sodding heating had packed up. This old bus crawled up the hill going at must have been no more than 10 mph through this damned fog...

When I eventually got home, more than two hours later than normal, what does my Mam say?....’Yer tea’s gone cold’!!!!

Different times...different attitudes...

Yes my friend had one, looked more like a deep sea diver or some kind of Doctor Who, weird, cheap monster type. I think they were made by a company called Lord Anthony.
