England ended the day on 192-4. But they had a wobble after tea when they lost 4 wickets for only 50 runs.
Root and Pope steadied the ship with an unbeatten partnership of 45.

Rain is forecast for some of the rest of the match. I hope it holds off. This could be quite an interesting test match if given the chance to play out.

England went from 318-9 to 400 all out.
Broad and Wood provided an entertaining session.
Lots of batsmen with starts but there were no centuries

Match referee Andy Pycroft fined Stokes around £2,250 (15% of his match fee) and placed one demerit point on his record.
Four demerit points over a two year period earn players a one match ban.
